Just finished Talk before Sleep which got recommended somewhere. It's a sad book but in the end I only gave it 2 out of 5 stars.
I like Elizabeth Berg, but some of her novels are definitely not as good as others.
I just finished The Girl Who Wrote in Silk, by Kelli Estes. Very well done historical fiction. I had no idea that the Chinese Exclusion Act was so horrific.
I am working on both The Paragon Hotel and Ember in the Ashes. Both had become available without my noticing and now I have to schedule reading time to finish them in time.

Mostly waiting on things right now. Night Boat to Tangier was mentioned several times in this thread but my library only had an electronic. They allow us to suggest purchases and when I mentioned it was highly rated by the NYT and that many folks prefer paper books they were kind enough to put it on order. I also noticed Donna Leon has a new book coming out in her Guido Brunetti series as well as Kathy Reichs having a new one in her Temperance Brennan series, I'm on the reserve list for both. Linda Fairstein has a new book coming out at the end of March, currently untitled but as soon as that changes I'll also put that on reserve.

The Girl Who Wrote in Silk sounds just like my cup of tea. Thank you! And thanks as well for sending me to the Historical Novel Society . . . looks like a great source if I ever get through the enormous pile of TBR's sitting around my house.
I just picked up The Feather Thief (nonfiction) and Shaun Tan’s Tales from Outer Suburbia, a kids’ book. I am totally smitten with his The Lost Thing in both film and book formats, and flipping through this book I was trying to soak myself into the gorgeous, moody illustrations already. Can’t wait to read it.
The Lost Thing is one of those extremely rare films/books that made me wish I were in the world of that story. The other one that comes to mind is Brian Doyle’s Mink River.
I believe there were a few people on here that recommend
Beartown by Fredrick Backman, so being a hockey fan I decided to read it and wow was it ever good and deep! Just really well written, tugs at you. I look forward to reading the second book!
