Most old people are racist, sexist, and/or homophobic.

I'm 46 and I voted for the first time in the 1980 election after four years of Stagflation, or Carternomics. Our present misery index is about half what it was at the end of the Carter administration (20.5%). I really don't want to go back to an economy like that or the weak failed foreign policy that led us into the present situation.

The problem that we have is one of perspective. The Bush policy of preemption has been too effective, and we have forgotten that people want to kill us and our children. If we had had an additional attack on Americans post 9/11, we would not be considering this person for president. Now we are to sit down and have a conversation with these radical Islamic nutjobs. Obama has a huge ego that has assured him that he can just work things out with anyone. Carter was naive too. Anyone who lived through those years remembers them as dark days. RCP has past electoral maps. Check out the ones for the 1980 and 1984 elections.
It's very telling.

I give you major thumbs up for this. I was too young to remember the Carter years, however, I realize the naiveness of Carter as well as CLINTON(Bill not Hillary) and Obama. The Radical Islamists follow suit of German Nazi's. They have children as young as three years old in their videos chanting "Death to America" while holding machine guns. When people are this passionate and sick with the idea and put their own flesh and blood into situations that ultimately bring death unto them, are in no shape or form to be reasoned with. They will stop at nothing to destroy what our country stands for. Unfortunately, it seems that we may have to repeat history, for those to understand its not as bad as mainstream media makes it out to be under Bush.

I can care less who sleeps with who. I do get annoyed when they seek to rub my nose in their life style. Straight or homosexual. Get a room.

yeah lucky for Clinton, Bush SR put policies into effect that helped out that wonderful economy that Clinton was able to reap the benefits of. People tend to forget those policies tend to take a few years to come into play. You tend to forget that the economy didn't blunder after 9/11 like so many thought it would. Or that there is a pattern prior to each election that something is wrong like the economy, or something to do with the military. They find out what scares the average American the most, and take full swinging advantage of it

Most young people want to fit in, especially if they have friends. So if their friends are saying something like "Obama is cool, he's all over the media and could be the first black president" etc, it might indirectly make young people follow the crowd and vote for him. It takes guts to stand on your own and do everything your own way.

45 isn't old. You're about 25 years off. You're still 1/3, though.

Do you even know any republicans under 30? If there are any, they're usually the type the rest of us don't trust.
