Its not going that great in Ukraine. This is something we agree on. It is very cheap right now so I imagine the tourism sector is gearing up for waves of budget minded Europeans. I can already see waves of Germans in Odessa next summer staying in cheap hotels and not tipping anybody. Some of my family were in there last month and breakfast was about 1 Euro at some cafe.

Every year the number of sex tourists in Ukraine increased at a rapid pace. In Ukraine, lacking “good” for a large flow of guests wanting to have fun. We'll show you how looks the sex tour Ukrainian in the European Paradise of beauty and what you need to know the seeker sex abroad.

Sex tourism is in the form of well-organized international tours, which operates via the Internet. If anyone is a foreigner enter a search engine query, for example, “girl Ukraine” or “Kiev girl” will get at least hundreds of sites with suggestions about the escort services. The tour can be found on any size budget – from well planned with a clear indication of power, places of stay, route of flight and the price for “ready-made” girls to an economy version like: arrived-met-settled. And then the sex tourist acting in its sole discretion – chooses a place for entertainment and rest, orders the services that interest him

Same can be found in Moscow, Istanbul, Balkans etc. Most countries in the world outside of the west... what's your point? I still find it ironic when Russians try to insult Ukraine like Russia is any better. Its like 2 neighbors in the ghetto trying to pretend each one is the best. Uh no, you both have a long ways to go to be considered civilized.

There are also numerous stories of that when some Finns were allowed to travel to Leningrad in the 70's and 80's, the women would sell you know what for a pair of jeans or a few packets of nylon stockings.

Theiar heirs are still at it today.) Back in the 80ies it was the largest plant, which employed about 8 thousand people (!), and it produced about 15 thousand buses a year.

Our government took measures to restore the plant, and on March 30, 2010, a contract was signed for the production of 1500 buses and 500 trolleybuses, and the plant was given an opportunity to be restaured. However, the lack of initiative and support from the Lvov leadership, and then the following coup d'état, finally killed this production. Four years after the coup the junta had no desire to deal with this issue; moreover, the de-industrialization policy was deliberately carried out in Ukraine.
Ideologically, they say that they want to make a "jump" into a post-industrial society, as much as they want to "jump" in the EU, NATO, etc. All these are adventures. Jumps without any backup."

Did you ever question why?
Did any of the Maidan supporters ever read the small print, what the "EU association" was all about?

Except for back in the 70ies and 80ies the KGB was all over the place.
So you wouldn't find too many of these women.

The militia and KGB was many times a part of this. The black market was huge. I just read a story written in Finnish by a KGB officer about all this.

A very large part of Ukrainians have for example a parent from Russia but this was mostly when they were one country so what did it mean to their ethnic heritage. Since I personally know pro Russian ethnic Ukrainians and pro Ukrainian ethnic Russians in SE Ukraine, I am not making it up. Loyalty to a nation comes more from what language was spoken at home or what city or village you grew up in.

Putin is trying to reach out to pro Russians in Ukraine to support his cause. This is evidenced by his propaganda news networks there and again I know this first hand. Just recently saw a show where they explained the dangers of getting a new passport to be able to visit Europe. Language is an issue here because he can't reach Ukrainian speakers as effectively. His words only reach the older population who are dreaming of what he is selling (some sort of return to a glorious reunion with Russia like the USSR days with promises of higher standards of living). His supporters in the Donbas thought this was coming. So did Crimeans. They are still waiting...

Russia is trying everything it can to convince people in Ukraine that being part of Russia is better for them than being part of Europe. That's actually what this war is about at its core, keeping Ukraine from pursuing a path to become like Poland with its higher lifestyle based on European association, rules and anti corruption structure of government. Putin cannot compete with Poland on a desirability basis so he will fight anyway he can including appealing to people's shared ethnicity and destabilizing Ukraine to convince people there that they won't have a better life until they return to his direction.
This is what boggles my mind...

Russia already is part of Europe, and Ukraine even more so.

It can't be all about corruption, that way of doing business.

Ariete..
If you'll ever find this particular movie with English subs, ( from 1989?) THEN you'll understand what was going on.
