Its the largest growth area of their economy again in 2020, mostly due to increasing demand from abroad to work on DevOps/cloud migration projects, and the other growth industry: video games. The 2nd most number of the 200,000 software developers in Ukraine are in Kharkov, which is emerging as the 2nd IT hub of Ukraine, in part thanks to the in-migration of skilled workers from the Russian controlled areas. While old soviet trained factory workers make $150 a month in Donetsk, their nephews on the govt controlled side are making 10 times as much at age 23 working on projects for Siemens. This isn't for everyone, you do need to have education and ability to learn English but its the highest path to good pay in so it attracts the most and the best. This is the same as in Poland, who's success Ukraine is trying to emulate.
Its true.
But the government is trying with all its might to remove the cream from this stratum of society. I know that some IT firms have moved their offices and become residents of Estonia, Romania or Hungary.

I just don't understand the logic of their thinking. They cut the branch they sit on!

What if they don't sit on this branch? Now, if they don't sit, then everything fits together. It's sad to be a colony.

Oh, I read the news. Here are the 90 - ies of the 20th century, it seems that some did not learn anything. Beautiful news. Ukroboronprom is being liquidated and dragged into private pockets, while almost half of the enterprises are being closed. Oh, Yes, all this with a nice sauce and slogans about fighting corruption and blah blah blah. But that was all over. When a large powerful enterprise is drained, sawed for scrap and the most delicious pieces fall into private pockets for one hundred thousandth of the real cost.

I won't mention the names of specific shareholders. But whose advisers and observers at all key points and who actively supported the coup, we all remember very well.

Alec, DKM is not living in the real world.
It's in HIS IMAGINATION only, Ukraine is going through reformatting, which (supposedly) is rebuilding Ukrainian economy in Western-like state, with the ties cut off from Russia.
In reality, this "free market, free movement of labor" crap that he believes in as "panacea," destroys your corner of the world only more and more.

And of course those IT companies will move to more stable places, out of Ukraine where they know things are only getting worse by day. ( "Free market, free labor movement," remember?)
They tried to pull this "free market" shtick with Russia as well back in the 90ies, and Russians were warning you what a disaster it was, but you didn't believe them.
Now you know.

I disagree with you.

That's, there is an increase in the workload in Ukraine. In the medium term, all employees will not leave Ukraine. Allows you to use the opportunity of cheaper labor in countries with EU countries. The only problem is the corrupt state system. I'm sure that if it is removed to Ukraine will show an unprecedented economic breakthrough and, moreover, will become powerful engine and inspiration of New Europe!

IDK the exact situation in Ukraine, but this alone doesn’t prove a shrinking population (although Ukraine’s population is shrinking, as is Russia’s), rather it shows people are moving from the small towns into the major cities. This phenomenon is occurring all over the world, including Russia, and yes even in certain areas of the US. People move to where the high paying jobs are, and the cities always have the most of those, eventually it turns into a vicious feedback loop where there is literally nothing to do in the country side, and everything has been swallowed up by the few remaining mega cities.

And that "corrupt state system" you are talking about, is under the direct management of your American overseers ( starting from the man they keep in charge of the "anti-corruption bureau.")
So make your own conclusions now.
