What are you saying is "average"? The same store sales number? Go back to business school and re-take Business Analytics.

The vultures certainly play a role, so does the competition.

In addition to Guitar Center, u can add GNC, Sears, Petsmart, Bed Bath Beyond, Bi-Lo, Fresh Market, Neiman Marcus and many others to that list.

Thanks to my new co-workers, I have figured out the formula to grocery shopping in Florida

25% Amazon, 25% Costco, 50% whole Foods/Lucky's/sprouts etc.

I'm still gonna order my Tex-Mex stuff from HEB online, though!

Did you actually read the article that you posted? Drinks and snacks are the best sellers! Serious shopping? Right...
Notice they are scaling BACK on Amazon Fresh in several states...

Guys, quit feeding the trolls, attention and therapy seekers. When one argues with an idiot it becomes hard to tell which one is the idiot. Besides they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience...

Publix is apparently doing just fine despite the company's many horrible flaws discussed here:

They know their target clientele. That's all there is to it. They know what draws them into the stores, and so they keep improving on those areas that their clients like, while maintaining the business model we are familiar with.

And what is really good about Publix........even the lowly bagger is a stock owner of the company. If the company profits not just the owner and CEOs make money so do the employees.

Just about every employee of Publix I have ever known has been very happy with their job/benefits. It is consistently ranked one of the best companies to work for. It speaks volumes that I have seen the SAME employees at my neighborhood Publix for years.
