Yeah, I think a lot of people were receiving offers about 8 months after originally sending documents. But who knows, maybe it will be sooner or later for us!
I didn't get any kind of confirmation after sending my documents in other than an automated "Request/reference number" response.
I didn’t either. I just got an email a few weeks later saying I was on a hold list. These people really don’t contact you unless absolutely necessary
It's hard to figure out what's going on because ST has had a couple of lotteries so far. Sometimes there's more than one income bracket, 80% AMI and 165% AMI. The apartments in the higher brackets are are fairly expensive, so applicants tend to turn them down. After the names on the list are exhausted, ST has to rerun the lottery, but just for the higher bracket.
So you have the situation where someone in the lower bracket can stay on the list, but the upper bracket list keeps getting refreshed.
I told you it was confusing!
So in the screen shot you sent, in the Fall 2018 lottery, you can see that the one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms are affordable. Those are the ones in the 80% bracket. The three-bedrooms are in the 165% brackets.
In the Spring 2019 lottery, all of these apartments are in the 165% bracket. That goes along with what I was saying earlier, that ST went through all those names very fast and had to rerun that bracket the next year.
Do you see any bracket that you fit into?
I was always in the 80% AMI. But in 2018 I had to appeal because they sent me a disqualification letter because they had me as household of 1 (I have one child). I sent a letter to appeal (log# 3084) and by the time my appeal was reviewed all the 80% AMI units were gone and they were running the 2019 lottery (log# 2401). The 2019 lottery was just for 165% AMI so I didn't qualify....
The last email from ST (on Nov/2019)said they reached my 2019 number but not my 2018.....It is beyond confusing....
Now I have a #34xx number and I am very hopeful because the income brackets are wider.
I have a question, I received an email May 3rd (log 42xx) to submit my documents and did that same night. I see that some people with higher log numbers have already submitted their documents and a rep reached out to them to see what Apt size they were applying for. Should I have received an email after I sent my documents on 5/3 from a rep too??? I’m stressing out they didn’t receive my email now, all I received was the automated response from the inbox that said:
