@Dartsan. It seems that you will get an apt soon. I was so happy when I heard someone in the 2XXX receiving an offer and was thinking that I would be contacted soon but it seems that they are mainly offering apt to people in the 1300-1400 at the moment.
On Thursday I called to check my status. The person on the line mentioned that I should be offered something within 2 months.
On Friday I called again after receiving an email from my occupant specialist. I was able to talk to her. She told me that they are working hard at securing us unit and confirm that I should get something within 1or 2 months. When I told her that I wasn't expecting anything until October and that it would be amazing if it really happened this summer. She just told me that she is sure within 1 or 2 months. She just told me to be ready once she recontacts me and to act fast.
Could it be that they finally have more staff working on fixing the unit? Or many people are moving out over the summer? Whatever it is after speaking with her it made me feel hopeful that I will get something. My current lease expires august 31 and I am in a rent stabilized, so I will re-new just in case.
Thanks for sharing your update! I wonder why they're asking for paperwork from people like me, in the 5,000s? Seems a bit odd, considering there's a back log of people that haven't received their units yet, with lower log numbers.
That is an original one-bedroom, exactly as it was built in 1947. Stuy Town had no studios when built.
I had thought the same thing, about not having studios. Perhaps the 3D view is skewed, the 1 br looked much smaller than from my previous 1br, many years ago. Still, it's a great space, in a great neighborhood.
Yes, Stuy Town now has a very small number of expensive studios, which were created less than 10 years ago out of the old trunk storage rooms, and some were carved out of the old management office.
Stuy Town does divide up one-bedrooms with pressurized walls, but those apartments are not allowed to be in this lottery.
So winners will not be getting a two-bedroom that's really a one-bedroom, with someone having to sleep in the living room. I'm happy about that.
On the Stuy Town website, those “chopped up” (non lottery) apartments are identified with the word Junior. If you search for a two-bedroom, they come up first because they are cheaper. And the newly created second bedroom doesn't seem to have a closet.
Here's an example of a one-bedroom that has been turned into a two-bedroom. It's not so bad, except that the living “room” doesn’t have a window. The price for this one is $5,350!

From my understanding, the first 15,000 log#s are called. I got that from prior StuyTown Lotteries. It continues until all the lottery apartments are full/leased up according to the HPD handbook. Maybe someone has some more insight. Maybe StuyTown runs differently.
“If no unit of appropriate size is available to an eligible applicant when the applicant’s log number is reached:
a. ApplicantswhoappliedonlineintheNewHousingConnectma ybeset as “pending” until an appropriate unit becomes available or until lease- up has been completed. These applicants will not receive a notice but will see their updated status in the New Housing Connect.”

I get that, but seeing that everything has a wait list for Stuytown, even people with log #s in the 1000s-2000s. I could see how they could go up a thousand, or couple thousand, but why continue calling beyond that? Makes no sense to me.
Hi, log #52xx submitted paperwork on June 13th and have not heard anything? Have emailed three times with no response? Can someone please tell me phone number to call and how does one find out who there specialist is? TIA!
Log # 5,XXX was contacted two weeks ago. They are processing 2 bedrooms right now, we are interested in 3 bedrooms so we will wait until one opens.
Hi- Could you clarify what you mean by you were contacted? Were you offered a 2 bedroom and you declined for a 3?
Thanks
