We dont have health care for the "health of the nation". We have health care for the health of PEOPLE. Birth control is NOT friggin health related. No way in hell should it be covered. You want birth control the go friggin buy it! Put aside that money you spend on gossip magazines, Big Macs, cable television and buy your own damn birth control. This is so stupid.
NO........... We have health care here in America for the health of WEALTHY people or people with work related health cover........ It is NOT for the people. You really have a skewed idea as to who is actually getting health care in America........... Get Real here.
This whole debate shouldnt even be happening because insurance should not cover birth control. PERIOD. But hey, lets not bring common sense into anything here. After all, we need more more more crap for free. God forbid you have to take care of yourself sometimes and pull money from your own pocket for the decisions you make.
Why is it that America is the only Country that has heated debates about health care??????????????????
These women are employed. They can probably figure out how to pay for it, have their partner provide it, or go to one of the many free clinics and have it handed to them. Why do you acts as though this is the only way people can have access to contraception? People have pointed out how many Catholics use contraception or think it's okay. They have managed all this time without having the church have to provide it.
No One is saying that getting birth control from a health policy is the only way but it should be a way for all who are covered with a health care policy.............. NOT decided on by religous beliefs. As can be seen most catholic women also think that the Church is wrong in their anti birth control B/S.
Manage all this time???????? what do you mean? having lots and lots of children whether they want them or not.....
Because the others are debating how to avoid bankruptcy or to get Germany to pay for them.
You really are joking............ i hope!
Do you mean the fantastic economy now in America or the downgrading of America by S&P or the huge debt owed around the world by America?
Looks like the Insurance based health system in America fails on so many fronts. All of the other Industrialised nations do not debate their health care because their systems work for every citizen rich or poor.
Where do you get the Idea that Germany pays for other Countries??????
Oh yes you must watch Fox news.
America's health system is far more expensive than the Govt. funded health care systems and supply contraception to anyone who wants it without all of the 'circus" that goes on here.

Religious beliefs are what guide the church; the insurance company is another thing. Forcing the church to act in opposition of that is an infringement on their freedom to believe and worship as they wish.
If most Catholic women (men are involved in this issue too) think the church is wrong, they can buy it or they can change religions if they're really opposed. I suspect that among those that think the chruch is wrong, many are using contraceptives anyway. For those that don't think the chruch is wrong, they wouldn't use it if it was offered. Whether people think the church is right or not does not compel the church to change. They have their beliefs and those are not decided by vote - other than those who vote with their feet and go to another religion or choose not to be involved in religion.
"Well the Catholic church won't have to give anyone contraception, but all insurance companies within the borders of the United States"
qualifies as "caving"
Many liberals believe that the Obama administrations problem on many issues is that they didn't start far enough to the left, so that when they compromised, there was no where to move to.
So, the administration is taking heed. They started as far left as they could on this issue, then moved a little to the right.
This will satisfy most Catholics, maybe not the hierarchy, but most Catholics.
I think its like saying that all tire companies must provide a free mounting and balance when you buy a set. It should be up to the states to do that.

I agree with a caveat; I'd let the church exclude birth control only IF the church would pay PILOT for services (fire/olice/EMS) as well as income taxes on the cost of Health Insurance. In effect, that would tell them you cannot have employer favorable treatment of Health Insurance costs if you demand separtion of church/state as your so called right. W/O paying taxes, that separtion is baloney as church wants the benefits of state, just not the costs.
Obama wins again. I know it upsets his haters that he didn't allow this stalemate with the molester protectors drag out. Sad that the POTUS in 2012 has to go through this to passify a cult delusion.
