My parents, and my friends' parents, lived under a Communist regime. When Fox News and Republican surrogates of Mitt Romney call our President a Communist, it shows either an appalling lack of understanding or outright lies. It's not all doom and gloom, "Obama's America" is pretty darn good.
The Republican party has increasingly taken on aspects of religion as they move further right. In order to energize the extreme base, suppose the message is: Obama is a Socialist who hates America, and his election will augur collapse of markets and mass starvation. This is repeated over and over again on Fox and conservative radio. International news does not support these assertions. Neither do most domestic outlets. Well then how can this be? Ah, it's a conspiracy. The "mainstream media" is suppressing the truth. Us Conservatives are being persecuted. Let's huddle together and only listen to patriots like Limbaugh and Hannity.
So now we've taken the message as fact. Obama hates America and will destroy this country. Well given that, surely Romney will win in a landslide. Who votes for mass starvation and doom? And then the President wins reelection. Mind...blown...how can this BE? Half the population just voted for the end of this country. Surely they must be misinformed, stupid, or brainwashed. It can't be that our beliefs are wrong. Bishop Limbaugh is never wrong.
It's like predicting the end of the world, and nothing happens. When you demonize the President to the extent that Fox News has, there's no escape from the corner you've backed into.
Branding China a currency manipulator and demonizing the country didn't really help either.
I watched the Republican Natl Convention and it didn't seem like a place welcome to anyone who is not white, nw european. Heck even Italian Americans or Polish Americans don't seem to figure into the Republican party.
The thing is that in the 80's and 90s, many Asians (Chinese, Koreans and Vietnamese) consistently voted Republican.
1. The GOP is all about old white guys holding on to power, and insulting everyone else.
2. The GOP considers math and science to be like kryptonite, and scientists to be liars and leeches.
3. The GOP considers all urban people (where asians usually live) to be morally bankrupt.
4. The GOP promotes closemindedness and intolerance of minority cultures, nonchristian religions, and rejects climate change and evolution.
5. The GOP routinely saber rattles and talks with contempt about Europe, Asia, Latin America, and just about any place other than the American South.
I could go on, but the point is, why would anyone want to jump on that bandwagon?
Asians are proof that the GOP has no monopoly on intelligent, hard working, and self-reliant people. The fable of the hard working Republican and the layabout Democrat was cooked up at Fox News. And Asians are usually smart enough to figure out who is talking out of their....
BRAVO! Very well said and I couldn't have done one bit better. And this is the real talk that incites GOP'ers to hop on the victim train and cry "reverse racism!" because they can't handle the same as they've been dishing out for centuries.
Talk is cheap and I'm from Missouri, the show me state.
I dislike both, republicans and democrats, however; you can find articles that were published while he was president of the harvard law review. If you can't find it online, simply contact Harvard Law Library and I'm sure they can point you in the right direction. Some Americans are so lazy. They want everyone else to do all of the research for them.

Was the success of this country built on welfare? No. Is Obama a Communist or just drank too much of the Socialist/Progressive/Liberal kook-aid over the years, yes.
He is the "sugar high" president. He will keep expanding "safety net" programs until he leaves off and put into place a massive welfare state unlike the rest of the world has seen. Will those people on the "sugar high" programs move up in life? Some, but has the failure of the Great Society programs has shown, most won't.

1. Really? I can't find any insults coming from the left? Be serious.
2. Really? So we don't buy into Global Warming. Now can you be less honest with yourself. When did the father of "global warming" ever debate the issue with anyone that disagrees with him?
3. Really? Since when?
4. So if a person does not agree with gay marriage they are intolerant? Don't agree with abortion? Have to agree with everything the left says or you are just wrong? That is the country we should live in?
5. Who went to war against Libya without permission of Congress - Obama. Who is deeply involved in the Civil War in Yemen? - Obama. Who is killing civilians with drone strikes - Obama. Who kept Gitmo open after saying he would close it? - Obama. Who had his military go wild and kill civilians in Afghanistan - Obama.
You never will get it. Asians = educated. Educated people have a vision for the future. They don't buy into the "we can't afford it" mentality of the Republican Party.
Yup....we only have a 16 trillion dollar national debt...Keep swiping that credit card...no problem...
