No one disputes whether or not Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin. The prosecutors made a huge mistake charging him with second degree murder, which requires that you prove he killed intentionally and with malice, etc. If they would have charged him with a lesser crime like manslaughter (third degree murder) which is more of a crime of passion, he'd be in prison right now. My husband (a former prosecutor) said he understands why the prosecutor made the decision that he did, but that it was a riskier move because juries can be unpredictable--he thought the prosecution did a really bad job. Martin really did get away with third degree murder--he would have gone to prison on that charge.
I think everyone would agree with that. And I have seen the talking heads on the tube mention this and the fact that the prosecution messed up with that murder charge. And looking back, I think the prosecution charge Z that way on purpose. I think they knew it would turn on this way. They weren't planning on prosecuting him in the first place.
Of course there is absolutely no evidence of this. All we have is TM beating GZ while sitting on his chest, which trapped him from retreating from the situation.
Horse Hockey ... this woman carries with her, as so many others also do, a very deep seated, ingrained attitude of racism. The "targeted minority syndrome", where just about anything bad that happens to them, happens because of someone else's racist mistreatment of them. Much of this is not totally their fault .. as this is a result of decades of indoctrination, however, each of us are responsible for managing our own minds and attitudes.
The truth is, our society has never been more fractured, and separated than it is today, with these leftist social engineers creating one sub-group after another, and pitting them against each other. Blacks against whites, hispanics against blacks, gays against straights, women against men, atheists against Christians, Muslims against (everyone) ( ) liberals against conservatives ... if a difference can be found between any two groups, it is exploited to the fullest, creating the greatest amount of tension possible. And we see this play out day in and day out.
It's been pointed out that thousands of black men have been murdered around the nation since the Trayvon Martin event happened ... the vast majority of them killed by other black men. Where is the outrage? Fact is, you hear not a peep about any of them. Are their lives not valuable? Or is the value solely in the amount of racial tension that can be generated when circumstances allow such exploitation and manipulation of public opinions?
Much of this could never exist if people were actually still capable of rational thinking, instead of reacting on lower base instincts colored in racism and distrust (which is a personal character failing). This Trayvon Martin case could not illustrate the problem more clearly, as the true racists gather and form their ranks to demand justice by convicting a man of murder who was CLEARLY reacting in self defense, as his bloody broken nose, and bloody head provide all the evidence necessary for any imbecile to realize who possesses an IQ larger than their waist size.
All of the talk of what Zimmerman should have done or not done prior to the point where Martin attacked him, climbed on top of him, and pounded on him is totally irrelevant to that fact. The reality is, had Martin not attacked that "creepy white cracker", he'd still be alive.
Of course ... calling someone a "creepy white cracker" is not a sign of racism ... it's just a cultural thang .. just the way they talk in the hood. BULL .... it's standing logic on it's ear to ignore Martin's own racist words, while twisting the situation inside out to label Zimmerman the racist.
This woman is a walking contradiction. She is scared, that's all. She is trying to play both sides to save face. She said she believes he was guilty of 2nd degree murder, but then went on to say there was no evidence for it. She said he was guilty, but also said that the trial should never have been brought. She's one confused individual.
The number of kids she has ABSOLUTELY MATTERS. The Prosecution was hoping that an all woman jury....many (if not all) with kids....would lead to a verdict based on emotion. That was the whole point. Obviously, that backfired, as the defense thought it would.
You people should be tired of making up excuses for that crazy fool Zimmerman. In fact, you should pray for him. He shot a kid and killed him. Even though I don't believe he had intent on killing someone's child... he did, and he can't take it back. He'll have to live with that for the rest of his life. I know he said he would do it all over again but I'm guessing not. Why would someone want to go through shooting a kid in the chest all over again in the heat of the moment? I know I wouldn't want to take that to my grave. Maybe some of you fake gun toting hard @sses don't mind but you're only lying to yourself.

All done with a single purpose of painting the entire nation as a bunch of dysfunctional bigots, racists, misogynists, xenophobes and homophobes, setting up the federal government as the great savior and universal arbiter, who will write new laws and new regulations, and impose new mandates to make things all better, and give everyone a "fair shot." /puke
Any kid who is bullied can take a gun to school and mow down the opposition?
I'll send money to whatever kid needs a gun for protection.
In my view this opens the door for any kid. ANY KID who's in fear of being beaten up. Because when you're a kid, FIGHTS are social and emotional and physical AND YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER!!!!
YOU THINK YOU'RE GONNA DIE!!!!
For a kid to protect himself from all three positions - he needs a gun.
ALL HE NEEDS TO DO IS CLAIM ZIMMERMAN DEFENSE!
HE GETS OFF!
PERIOD!!!
GOTTA LOVE FLORIDA FOR SETTING PRECEDENTS!!!!
Pull yourself together. First, kids can't buy guns. Second, kids can't conceal/carry guns. Third, it's illegal to bring a gun on school grounds. Don't lose any sleep over your far-fetched scenario.

.... and the District Attorney OVERCHARGED Zimmerman and thus prevented him from being jailed or fined for anything. This is the same as pulling someone over for speeding and then charging them with reckless driving. If found "not guilty" then the state loses the revenue they could have gotten for a speeding ticket.
