The military doesn't care about her heartache and neither does the Commander in Chief.

what do you mean "care" What is your definition of "care"

US policy isn't to immediately recover soldiers whatever the cost, but the US does have an obligation to recover everyone eventually.

There are simply times when it is wrong to endanger troops trying to rescue or retrieve fallen comrades, or ones who are caught behind enemy lines. Where it is possible to do so, then the attempt will be made. When it is not, it won't.

It is not abnormal it took 2 days to find his body. Three other men also lost their lives.

The military takes a pragmatic view of no man left behind. If it is possible to retrieve the missing or the fallen...they do so. If practicality dictates otherwise, then while the missing aren't forgotten, their fates can't be allowed to interfere with overall military strategies. People in special forces, they all know this.

It is, of course, clear that the body is not in good condition. Mrs. Johnson's desire to view her husband's remains is unrealistic as is the desire for immediate clarification about the 48 hours.

BUT not to anticipate that she might speak out, asking for answers is equally unrealistic. For anyone to label her doing so as outright politicization knowing nothing more strikes me as somewhat cruel.

Grieve the right way, MY way - or else I'll call you THIS.

Kelly advised Trump in our post-Benghazi environment NOT to make calls.

Trump chose to ignore that advice - and who now is to be "blamed" for the resulting mishmash?

The widow.

She certainly deserves an answer, there is already an investigation underway.

More likely they are trying to protect themselves. Husband retired from the military. Lot of CYA goes on.

It's been better than two weeks and still no explanation of how her husband was left behind for two days despite activating his locator beacon which the Pentagon says they were tracking.
Remember how they lied to Pat Tillman's survivors? They wanted to make a hero out of him. PR was more important than the truth. Those generals may talk slick and promise to get to the bottom of things, but they are all liars more interested in perception than reality.

I just listened to an interview with Mrs. Johnson on NPR on the way home from work. She was most disturbed that Trump was very cold and unattached when speaking with her. He even bumbled the fallen soldiers name. But that is simply the only way he can act, he is a cold hearted SOB. Can you imagine him ever having a human emotion and being able to properly offer his condolences to someone ?

You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear, and you can't polish a turd.

Did you know he had 2 sgt 's with the last name Johnson to make these calls to?
In that case, we have to give tRump some slack.

No one could expect him to keep that much fine detail straight.

Again, funny how some fixate on this one "he said/she said" incident to condemn Trump as an uncaring monster, yet these same folk unashamedly ignore the widow whose Green Beret husband was killed in Afghanistan in April of this year, and who Trump personally called. That widow in fact recorded the conversation, and it was incredibly moving the way the President remembered his name, knew about their kids and their scholarships, and invited them to see him at the White House.

Even a clock is right twice a day. Trump should use cue cards or a running script when he makes these calls. He has a history of grandiose, crass, bluster and bullsh$t when he talks. Even his handlers say he didn’t mean that. These situations are no time to wing it
