I would argue, given my profession, that I know how masks work considerably better than you do. The cloth masks, which are the majority of the masks you'll see worn, provide almost no viral protection. They can prevent people from touching their mouths and they can reduce the area you contaminate, but that's about it.
We're not talking about a situation where people are walking around with M95 or even legitimate surgical masks.
Some mask can be made almost as good as a N-95 - its about exposure,,, stay outta people faces and try not to sneeze- cough or talk over folks . the mask and distancing is the best defense.
That sounds exactly like what the mayor of Seattle and govenor of Washington are doing to the president. He wants people to be safe over there too.

Wearing a mask helps keep viruses from spewing everywhere when you cough or sneeze, or talk. No one claims they stop the virus completely, but they do reduce the distance it spreads

Or, like some with the same stance who now are 6 ft under-- facts - your choice to be free and die but not to knowingly infect another. Tell us, if was brave enough to be tested- and came up positive- still no mask?
A)You don't know my profession; B) you are correct that masks reduce the area we contaminate, and that is exactly why we should wear them; and C) isn't it N95 masks? For someone in your "profession", shouldn't you know that?

My point was that masks don't do what people believe they do. The masks most typically worn offer no true viral protection, but they give stupid people the illusion of safety causing them to engage in more risky behavior....you know, like the kinds of stupid people who would gather in the tens of thousands in the street to "protest" a random crime.
Wearing a mask or not wearing a mask doesn't really matter all that much for your average person in their day to day life.

Seriously?... taking over a police station alone is insurrection worthy.
Most mainstream media is fear porn (not to mention a bunch of other things I won't get into).
It's also interesting how there's never any talk in the media about how people can naturally boost their immune systems through natural methods (such as not eating crappy food). That's because something like 30% to 40% of the revenue for mainstream media companies' news programs comes from ads by Big Pharma.
Absolutely TRUE, never never advice about boosting one's IMMUNE SYSTEM. The closest thing to it is when trump talked about taking that quinine drug and zinc he's allegedly taking for prevention sake.
And I hear it a lot on my coast to coast program about keeping a strong immune system and what Noory takes for his strong system. He's certainly NOT a lover of pharma. Pharma needs people to be SICK....

My one neighbor who gets me stuff from a market on weekend when she goes EARLY IN MORNING as they are open for older people and more compromised ones, sent me a note this morning, and she's a major Mask Wearer even to the mail box at our apt bldg., she's in quarantine until next Thursday...All that masking...and I'm certain she's a big sanitizer too. Tells me something I think.
