An undocumented immigrant is someone who has immigrated from one country to another without official documentation. It seems pretty straightforward but I know some people can struggle with unfamiliar terminology. Anyway, now that you know what an "undocumented immigrant" is, perhaps you can add something useful to the discussion.
The term "undocumented immigrant" is just a euphemism for "illegal alien".
This would tend to hurt red states more than blue. Border states have higher undocumented numbers, as well as states with larger agricultural economies. With some exceptions, most of those are red. Anyone who thinks this is going to only hurt California- or that it will be hurt the most- are probably going to be surprised.

The point for most of these people is to dehumanize. You can bet they say much worse outside of a moderated forum.
the census is a document...it is in fact a federal OFFICIAL document...
therefore they (the "undocumented") will now (if they participate) be officially documented that they entered/ overstayed in the USA ILLEGALLY....
if they participate, they CAN NOT be classified as "undocumented" because they are VOLUNTEERING to be documented... and we can now officially document them as illegal
oh.. fascist liberal PC thrown right back at ya
It’s unfortunate that this is the only contribution you have on this topic. Be well.

That's just a made up PC term by the ethnocentrics and bleeding hearts to soften their status and actions to get into our country. The correct term for them in our immigration law lingo is "illegal alien". Don't pretend that those above don't know the proper term for them either. There is nothing unfamiliar about the term "illegal alien".
What is wrong with that man. The census is to count people.
President Donald Trump signed a memorandum Tuesday claiming that undocumented migrants should not be counted in the census for purposes of deciding how many members of Congress are apportioned to each state – though the practical impact of the president's expected move is uncertain at best.
"Respect for the law and protection of the integrity of the democratic process warrant the exclusion of illegal aliens from the apportionment base, to the extent feasible and to the maximum extent of the President's discretion under the law," Trump said in the brief document. https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-tel...161353555.html
The census is to count legal citizens.
Illegal immigrants fail that test.
Foreign nationals who are living in the United States unlawfully have no business in the United States and their numbers should not be used to make policy. They aren't supposed to be here.
^^^^^This. Also, they are not "Undocumented". The are Illegal Aliens, period!
I don't understand the logic -- other than it allows him to make up numbers. What does he think the census is for?
To assign number of representatives for each state.
Why should those who are living here illegally, not allowed to be here, have congressional representation in our country. They are not legally allowed to vote.
