Why would I? Or pray to Allah? Or Vishnu? Or Zeus? Or Thor? Or Freya? Or Quetzalcoatl?
Why would I pray to imaginary friends? Besides which, who are YOU to say I have sinned? Get off that high horse, categorizing fellow human beings.
Once you realize we all end up the same way, as wormfood, then you will realize that you have to live your life the best you can, helping your fellow humans the best you can. In the here and now, not in some fantasy afterlife. When the worms excrete what is left of you, it will feed another living being the same way that when they excrete what is left of me. And that is how we live on.
There is nothing more special then the "Holy Spirit" of God.
It's not what we see on the outside, it's whats within.
Our Hearts define Our Souls.
When God looks into His Chalice of Darkness, He sees specks of Light.
One day soon God will pick up the chalice again and sift out the Light from the Dark.

What I "hoped" to get out of it was just some form of communion.
The answer: nothing happened.
Do you think we non-Christians all simply decided to "not believe" because that would be cool or something? Or because we're basically cold and evil with hard hearts? Or we "hate Jesus" or something?
That's the easy fallback belief about atheists and agnostics, I know. It makes you feel better than, it makes you feel chosen, and it allows you to keep believing your own stories about Grace and hardened hearts and sin and so on.
But actually, it's often not true, so...yeah, unfortunately there's that. Apologies for that.
