Here you go. Both previously infected and vaccinated moms pass antibodies in breast milk that can neutralize the virus in experiments done in the lab. Whether those antibodies provide protection to the infant and for how long is unknown at present.
I briefly checked the occupancy of the ICU and hospital beds. It's not looking good in the non-metropolitan counties. We're talking 100-111% occupied ICU beds in at least four counties, and, it's a cluster ---- for the non-ICU beds, as well. You can probably guess which counties are getting crushed.
I just saw that PG County (where I grew up) is at 26% positivity. Yowza. Mostly all of the Maryland hospitals are in crisis mode now and have instructions to EMTs to divert patients. The funny (sad) thing was that there were no locations to divert them to.
Yup. That's covered in The Great Influenza, the book about the 1918 epidemic. As a matter of fact, there's lots of evidence that the initial outbreak came from a military base in rural area of Kansas, jumped from one military base to another, and then was carted by American soldiers to Europe.
I read that book. As I recall (I got it from the library; it's not part of my personal collection), the influenza showed up first in Kansas, followed by a military base in New Jersey. It's probably too late to rename it from the Spanish Flu to the Kansas Flu.

Ha, I think you're right.
Some years ago my NJ hometown renamed streets after our war dead. They did research to get backstories for a ceremony. Our only WW1 death, a distant relative of mine, turned out to be Spanish Flu. He only made it as far as Boston, where he died. Never even made it to Europe. Still got a street, though!
Well, my 73 y/o cousin just passed away from Covid. She contracted it at a relative's wedding. She
was immunocompromised with rheumatoid arthritis, and got pneumonia from Covid.
She and her family made a decision not to intubate, and she struggled with the oxygen given.
She is the first to die in our enormous extended family, though many have contracted it, despite most being vaccinated. Mild cases for them.

The WH announced that we'll all be receiving free tests in the mail.
I don't know when though and not sure how many....500 million means 1.6 tests per person ?
I'm not holding my breath. It's not like we HAVE 500 billion test kits yet. I am underwhelmed by this administrations response to Covid.

Well, that's helpful, considering no one knows what your city is.
The Scottsdale Walmart had them up to a few minutes ago.
