Hopefully they keep this line of thinking so they can keep their high spending average results.

You know, as a lifelong Mets fan I've noticed something peculiar about fans of that team from The Bronx. It would probably require a Federal grant for a study to figure out why, but Yankee fans can only dish it out. They can't take it. And any time the Red Sox beat them, fuhgeddaboudit! It's the end of their world.

The rebound started in '94 -- we were in first in that strike-shortened season.

There are far more bandwagon fans of the Red Sox in the past few years than there are for the Yankees. Many of them have no clue who Johnny Pesky, Ted Williams, or Dom Dimaggio are (or that he was related to the more famous Dimaggio with the 56-game hitting streak in 1941).

Then again, when you do the math, the Red Sox have a long way to catch up to the Yankees.

bwhahahahahaha I love that come back.. "we have 26 championship" Yippie skippy! I could care less about Babe Ruth won in 1921. Really who cares?

I cant tell you hgow many Yankee fans have NO CLUE who Casey Stengel or Joe McCarthy are. Mind you these guys won more World Series than Joe Torre ever went to as managers.
Oh sure they know Ruth, Mantle, Mattingly and the BIG names, but do they know the HISTORY.... um NO!

Have the Red Sox picked up bandwagon fans since 04 NO DOUBT, but the real ones dont run and hide when the chips are down.

Yes, there are a lot of bandwagon Sox fans, I agree. But how do you explain all the empty seats at the new Yankee Stadium? I know prices are high and the place is huge. During the Torre years they stilll would have sold it out.

I am also sick of the whole "we have more WS champions than you" excuse. The season starts over every year. Yes, the Yankees are a proud franchise. However, when the season starts, every team is the same. The Yankees have to prove themselves like any other team, and right now the Sox are the better team, no question.
