I believe because gays are such a minority compared to the whole population. If the answer is no, which it obviously is, then I don't care if pedophiliacs are so orientated. The answer is that it is a crime to act on it as no other adult is involved in giving consent.
It has been reasonably shown that real pedophiliacs cannot be "cured", although there are some drugs used to constrain their urges. As such, yeah, they are born that way. Sadly.

What is the difference?
A male person born with a gene or something that makes him naturally prone to be a woman or a boy raised by a bunch of girls in a family that wanted a girl, or just some sort of circumstances that led a person to be a homosexual?
Either way, it simply is who they are and you couldn't change either. Wether it comes from birth or condition, it is who they are and they can't do anything about it.

Instead, they are throw in prison even if they never physically do anything. At least create a colony for them to live freely. Otherwise, it's kinda hypocritical to claim that gays can't help their sexual orientation and therefore should always be accepted, but not for someone with the misfortune of having a different type. They are regarded as sub-humans, bottom class citizens.

If they don't act on their urges, meaning having non-consensual sex with someone who is not an adult, no one will discriminate against them.
But you already knew that.
So what if gays can't help their sexual orientation? If they, like you and me, have sex with consensual adults, so what? How does that affect you, me, or society? It doesn't. It just doesn't matter that gays and lesbians have the same rights as anyone else, including the right not to be discriminated against, and to marry.
