No offense to you at all but your posts are becoming more and more ignorant each time I read them.

Are you serious? OBAMA the AntiChrist?

Muslim? Read up on sources other than the horrible religious Republican sources.

Jesus Christ. Even I will pray for Him to save your soul.

So glad to see that people voted NO CHANCE far more than any other option.

Good grief!

Some of these threads are'nt worth posting until you can see the direction it takes or just listen to the viewpoints of others before you chime in with your own thoughts and research. There's a scripture that helps you to avoid the tendency to respond with instant rebuttals. It can be a humiliating experience to reply to a matter before hearing it out. There's a scripture that drives home this point at
Proverbs 18:13 - "Amplified Bible" or (any flavourite translation you like. They all drive home the point.)
Quote:
"He who answers to a matter before he hears the facts -- it is folly and a shame to him."
After all, who knows everythine? Remember that the views you have now came from information you took in some time ago. You did not always have those views. It is the sensible person that knows there is so much more to learn.

On this particular subject of "Anti-Christ" , I get the feeling that as with many other biblical subjects, in our time, Hollywood has shaped our view and understanding of many things, including this subject. How many "Steven King" novels or movies have been made that have shaped your thinking on this matter ??? I'd say many, plus countless other scripts which try to sensationalized such a topic for it's entertainment value. But let's get to what the bible has to say.

1 John 2:18 - "New International Version"
Quote:
"Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour."
The list of "Anti-Christs" throughout history is very long. Many in the past who were labled as antichrists were the Jews, Catholic papacy, and Roman Emporers. For example, Emporer Frederick II chose not to enter the Crusade on behalf of the church, Pope Gregory IX named him the antichrist and excommunicated him. Gregory's successor Innocent IV, excommunicated him again. In response, Frederick declared Innocent to be the antichrist. Many in this thread have pointed out that there have been numerous antichrist lables given through the ages. Now fast forwarding this this present day , we are asked to believe that Obama is the "Anti-Christ".

The Apostle John is the only bible writer to use this word antichrist. In the two letters bearing his name, the word appears five times, in both the singular and the plural. From these verses we can see the the antichrist is a liar and a deceiver, bent on destroying a person's relationship with Christ and with God. Here is a scripture which was talked about in another thread and it bears mentioning here. The apostle warned us.
1 John 4:1 - "The Message Bible"
Quote:
"My dear friends, don't believe everything you hear. Carefully weight and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are alot of lying preachers loose in the world."
Even Jesus spoke about False Prophets looking like sheep, but in reality were ravenous wolves. I like the way this is put at Matthew 7:15,16 - from "The Message Bible"
BibleGateway.com - Passage Lookup: Matthew 7:15-16;

Quote:
"Be ware of false preachers who smile alot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don't be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say. A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned."
Actually it was verses 15 thru 20, but you get the general idea.

I've got to split for a couple of hours, but I'll get back with more info that you may or may not find of interest.

The Pope, Saddam, Bush and now Obama has been called the anti-Christ. I believe the "anti-christ" may be a "job description" more than a single person.

Someone who has signed up for a job, which disillusions them by power. Those that sign up for a job may unintentionally trigger a world catastrophe and in this case, for example the W administration by taking out Iran and Afghanistan, made Iran into a super power.

We will just have to wait to see what Obama triggers, but an attack on Pakistan will most likely align both Pakistan and Iran with that of Russia and China and something unforseen but seemingly more likely today, let's "hope" not ... a WWIII with 200 million troops involved within this century.

"Anti-Christ"

If you found yourself in an area of an infecious disease which was spread like wildfire, what would you do? I suppose the first order of business would be to build up your immune system, then identify those carriers of this infectious disease and "avoid them like the plague" as they say. This is exactly what the scripture tell us was happening back in John's day, where he warned that the "antichrist" "is already in the world". 1 John 4:3 As a Christian, we want to identify those carriers of this infectious disease and avoid them. This where the bible sheds light on the subject.

"Anti-Christ" means "against (or instead of) Christ". In the broadest sense, the term refers to all who oppose or lyingly claim to be the Christ or at least his representatives. Jesus gave a warning about this when he was still on earth.
Luke 11:23 - "New International Version"
Quote:
"He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters."
It should be noted that the foremost "Anti-Christ" is indeed "Satan the Devil". However, not only is he antichrist, he is also Anti-God , Anti-God's Kingdom and Anti-Christ's brothers or followers. He is opposed to any and all solutions put forth from the Bible as God's inspired word for directing mankind.

As I mentioned, John warned that there were already many antichrists in the world back then. Paul also spoke of the great apostasy which would corrupt the christian congregation back then. Sure enough, after the death of the apostles and faithful older men and women of the early congregation , anti-christ ideas infiltrated into christian belief.

Consider some of christ's teachings and how do or do not many measure up. I only have time for just one major topic , but they are in actuality numerous.

Jesus said that his Kingdom and followers would be no part of the world.
John 18:36 - "New International Version"
Quote:
"Jesus said, 'My Kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my Kingdom is from another place."
How many religious people today claiming to be Christians actually believe this statement from Jesus? What has history should us about the separateness of Christianity from this world's politics and conflicts? Sadly most fail. However throughout history there have been individuals who have remained separate and have died at the hands of the very one's claiming to be representatives of God and Christ.

There is no government, including the United States, that is for Christ's as it's king. What we rather find is most of today's religious element backing Anti-Christ schemes for peace and security and solving every other problem common to mankind. History again has shown us that government by man is a miserable failure and only Christ as King of God's Kingdom is the solution. Well, at least for those claiming to be Christians, that's the way it should be viewed. You all know the "Lord's Prayer" or "Our Father Prayer" ??? At least that is what you are praying for when you recite it from memory.

Default hummm

The Bible says we will ALL know who the anti-christ is when it is time. Don't forget the false prophet that doing all the miracles before the anti-christ comes to light.

I'm not worried. We will all know in time....Just as we will all know when Jesus comes back. It won't be a secret. In fact we are not to listen to all the people speculating about who is what...we will always hear tons of rumors.

Granted I am not pleased with Obama's 2006 speech where he mis quotes the bible and tell us all that we haven't been reading our bibles....look it up sometime if you haven't seen it already. Some people say it was an enlightening speech...I called it rubbish...because of his interpretation of the bible. We have him now though as president...we should all pray for him.
