We did a lot of outside work today so dinner was an afterthought so I made egg salad. I put mine on some mixed spring greens. Husband wanted a sandwich on toast.
I lost power almost 4 hours ago, about 10 minutes before I was going to start dinner.
TWO houses in my town lost power. For the longest time my power company reported that it was just me (and I think they were slow to respond because of it) -- I guess the other customers were out so didn't report it until they got home. Power company first said it would be back on by 6:45 p.m. ... then at 6:45 p.m. (yep!) they reported it would be back at 9 p.m. (that's when they also said it's now TWO customers instead of just me). So I am STILL waiting. Had to leave my house since I can't do anything there ... I'm in my work office but I'm hungry and annoyed at Eversource (ever-no-power for me today ) and don't feel like grading papers.
Anyway, sorry for the rant!! Dinner tonight will be baked rosemary-garlic-thyme chicken with stir-fried mixed veggies, assuming power returns at 9 p.m. as they SAY!!
Just finished leftover chicken & steak fajitas and leftover Spanish rice from my lunch at El Torito in Monterey with a friend earlier today. Drank English Ales Dragonslayer IPA. About a third of the original meal. That El Torito is located right on the water and we enjoyed a nice view. It's a better experience IMO than their usual mini mall locations.
