My wife and I visited a new Lowe's Food at Oak Island, NC while on vacation last week. The place was truly unbelievable. Unlike any grocery store I've ever seen. Just beautiful inside. I am absolutely certain the Greer store will be a HUGE hit.

Surprised no one has mentioned the major construction/ expansion at Aldi in Taylors across from Walmart. Major addition and work going on. Building is open but hardly recognizable at this point.

You beat me to the punch. I just drove by there and wondered if a bomb hit the place! I was surprised to see it open!

Was at the Greer park today and noticed the Cupcake Castle had a sign that said it was temporarily closed.

Noticed that there's a new sign outside the old Allen Bennett hospital that has the acreage and that RFP bids needed to be in by Oct. 4th and a number. Any ideas what they are trying to do with this piece of property??

Eldemila - I believe the old AB hospital area is being marketed as retail/commercial. Maybe the city wants to offload it quickly to get some cash.

There has not been a solid redevelopment plan for the Allen Bennett Hospital site. Any idea is under consideration.

The terrain of that site doesn't seem suitable for retail unless some major grading. Very hilly. I wonder if it ends up being more like an apartment complex.

The site will have to be graded anyway. I would advise improving Memorial Drive's approach to West Wade Hampton Boulevard.

Seems 101 Brookwood, off WH that has been numerous businesses since I moved here less than 6 years ago is being painted and the sign for the prior business that never even opened was taken down. No indication if what business may be going in there, at least not as of yet. I see it's still owned by Leon Hix, but says it's not on the market.
