Watch me crack a "joke" about locals and we'll see what happens. Ooop, I forgot. The humor lies in WHO tells the joke and at whom it is aimed. Nice, nice.
The fact that people make a living here doing such things says a lot about life here.
Anyone see a gross disconnect between the assertions that "one has to respect the Hawaiian culture" and being expected to disrespect other cultures/races/ethnicities in order to "fit in"?
Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno, Chris Rock, Steve Harvey, George Lopez, and other comedians have made fortunes telling "ethnic" jokes, while local comedians in Hawaiʻi are lucky if manage to put food on table by doing the same thing. There's a difference between "poking fun" at a culture and "disrespecting" one and good comedians tend to be aware of the distinction.

It is unacceptable, right down to the smallest denominator, including (hahahahahaha) so-called "humor."
And just because it's deemed acceptable by some doesn't make it right. Anyone remember Step 'n' Fetchit, Amos and Andy, Asian stereotypes in old movies? Hahahahahaha, right? No.
Other places have moved beyond that. "Hawaiian Time" is no excuse to perpetuate the thinly-veiled hatred.

And yes, I have a killer sense of humor, LOL. Just don't find ethnic slurs funny at all, in any way, shape or form. Neither does most of the rest of the world, these days.
The ability to tolerate different viewpoints and opinions is another trait that helps folks to adapt to life in Hawaiʻi. While "ethnic slurs" aren't particularly funny, "ethnic humor" can be and most Hawaiʻi locals tend to know the difference.

Anyone ever wonder why people who grew up in Hawaii hold so few local executive level positions, compared to mainland or international transplants? I'll tell you why. Basic writing skills.

Sorry to make them angry, but the folks who grew up here and post on this forum are often a clear example of a lack of basic writing skills."

Remind you of anyone?
You have said other things about pidgin ok. There is all kinds of intellect. Thank god i got the right kind.

Further, who said i was specific about Honolulu? Alot of my views are relivent to areas outside of Honolulu and just Hawai'i in general.

I would love to solve this because this seems to be a source of tension between us, and i just want to live in peace with ppl lol.

Cont from above.

And who appointed you as the grand master of reality or C.D.F? Further what gives you the right to attack almost every new post i make on my threads the moment i post them? Have i done that to you? Obviously we have a different point of view or reality. Does that give me the right to treat you the same way?

What makes you think that you can treat other differently then they treat you. Have i come onto your threads called you a liar or even said anything wrong? No! another example of superiority. And shame on you people for supporting him.

I have to ask, are you trying to win a CD contest with the endless stream of new threads?
It's kind of like watching old SNL skits with Rosanne Rosanadana, or Emily Latella (What's all this I hear about endangered feces?). Odd; funny in a pathetic way; and usually about some bizarre topic. If you are going to continue posting every thought that pops into your head, you probably need to grow thicker skin.
Personally, I enjoy WhtViper's responses. They balance out the weirdness.

JMHO

I don't want to make enemies or get on anyone's S-list, but Yes, it certainly does.

Can you explain what you are trying to say: When you say "Example:", one naturally thinks you are going to present an example. However, when you immediately follow it with "rest my case", one has to ask themselves if they blinked, and perhapa missed something. In other words, where is your example?
