A Brazilian woman was doing work for me at a company. I got to know her and her husband. When my husband decided to get a new car, we gave her his old car - free.

Whenever I saw them driving the car, I felt far more joy than I ever experienced driving our newer car. Just sayin'...

Some of the wealthiest people I have known have been role models for me. In addition to being nice - to EVERYONE - they were very humble and very giving. I didn't crave their wealth. It was their authenticity I longed to acquire.

Right and some of the wealthiest people I know are wealthy and stay wealthy because they're frugal and don't spend $30 an hour for someone to do their chores.

I think you're being a little unfair. I spend a similar amount because I simply don't have time to do the cleaning myself and I'm not good at it when I try do it. If someone has a stay at home spouse and still spends the money on a cleaning lady that's a different story.

That's what I pay for someone who is bonded and insured. Even illegal aliens with no insurance want $20/hr on the low end.

This. Having just gone through the process of interviewing cleaners, $30/hour for an insured cleaner is pretty middle of the road.

I think this is a bit harsh. Most people only hire a cleaning person to come in a few hours a week to do extra deep cleaning. It is a few hours a week not a full time housekeeper. They usually have professional level equipment to do the job better than you or I could. I don't use cleaning services but don't begrudge anyone who does.
