Onions go well with Norwegian Bland
chopped real fine they produce a different, sweeter flavour than when cut coarse. Salt and rinse with cold water to get rid of strong flavour. Cooked, most become sweet and wonderful to even the most sensitive palate.
Here's another weird recipe of my own invention:
Make egg-biscuit dough, a little on the sloppy side (scratch or Bisquick, either works)
Chop up a whole red onion. mix well into the dough
Spread in liberally-buttered pie plate, top with more butter
Bake (or microwave) until biscuit dough is done
(If you microwave, needs to be turned out of the pan and left upsidedown before it begins to cool, or it will stick something awful)
Serve hot or cold with LOTS of butter
Surprise -- the
red onion has turned

Onion pie started as the food of last resort -- only things in the house were Bisquick, butter, eggs, and a red onion. Sounded weird, looked strange, tasted very fine!
BTW you may notice it doesn't matter how much biscuit dough you make... I make "a bowlful" (a short two cups or so of dry mix) but more or less as desired or per how much onion you want.. I want lots in every bite.
Where are they in the wheat harvest this year? Hate to see hail come along at the wrong time!! It can really destroy a crop.
Hope everyone can still afford hail insurance.

Happy 4th all! I hope we all get through without any fires started
This morning (while it's still cooler out) I've got to make Bannana bread and a Upside-down Apple pie for our bbq tonight. I kinda wish I was going to Eddie DeBartolo's party (former owner of the S.F. 49'rs) as he always has a huge one. 3-4 years ago Journey was the band and I think it was Kool and the Gang last year ending with a huge fireworks display. If anyone's around Glacier airport tonight you'll have prime seating for the show!
Next week is the start of our hardwood floor install, oh boy I can't wait...

chopped real fine they produce a different, sweeter flavour than when cut coarse. Salt and rinse with cold water to get rid of strong flavour. Cooked, most become sweet and wonderful to even the most sensitive palate.

This morning (while it's still cooler out) I've got to make Bannana bread and a Upside-down Apple pie for our bbq tonight. I kinda wish I was going to Eddie DeBartolo's party (former owner of the S.F. 49'rs) as he always has a huge one. 3-4 years ago Journey was the band and I think it was Kool and the Gang last year ending with a huge fireworks display. If anyone's around Glacier airport tonight you'll have prime seating for the show!
