Hillary's new catch phrase is Weapons of War. Hell, they/re all weapons of war. You want them all.

First step is to stop access to the "object to blame!" Let the SCOTUS continue with this effort the GOP is incapable of!

Today, in the case of Voisine v. the United States, the United States Supreme Court handed down a decision prohibiting people convicted of domestic violence from purchasing guns in a 6-2 vote.

Here in CA you can merely say a name for a ticket, you don't have to produce ID. They also won't tow your car anymore. No shows in court are common when you use a fake name and address.
excellent point. you can make all the laws you want, but until they are enforced, they are useless.

It is recognized that cars have the potential to get into accidents and a car of 2016 has only a scant resemblance to a car of 1916!! Immense sophistication and research and development has been applied to making cars safer in accidents and to warn drivers of objects behind them (children) and efforts are underway to making cars self-driving with computer algorithims optimized for the safety of passengers and objects external to the vehicle alike.

Where is the corresponding progress on guns? Smith and Wesson had their heads handed to them by the NRA after agreeing to look into Smart Gun technology that would make guns useless to anyone except the owner. Most people are happy that their Smart Phones have similar technology because chances are good these days if you leave your Smart Phone lying on the bench in your gym locker you will get it back. 5 years ago you would have been out of a phone.

It isn't the guns or the not guns anymore, it is the utter deadlock of the two sides that continues into the 21st Century that is most frustrating. We've lost a fair number of Americans senselessly, and the number continues to rise. When are we going to do something?!

So what you are suggesting is we ban bathtubs, matches and knives then. Why would you ban those objects?

Should the GOP and NRA supported the bill that would have blocked those on the terror list for 72 hours from buying a gun? Permanently with a court order.

Sounds reasonable to me, why would they not support that?

not only that, but none of the laws passed shall ever stop a criminal from owning or using a firearm. any gun control law passed are only passed to effect the already law abiding citizen.

There is lot of people that would be interested in this technology, myself included. However I want options including the option to turn it off. Someone that is not interested in it should not be required to use it. The reason this technology is not coming to market is because of mandates for it's use in all guns once available, specifically in New Jersey. It will sit on the shelf until the mandate is lifted.

The NRA doesn’t oppose the development of “smart” guns, nor the ability of Americans to voluntarily acquire them. However, NRA opposes any law prohibiting Americans from acquiring or possessing firearms that don’t possess “smart” gun technology.

here is the problem with so called "smart guns". you and a friend are walking down the street, you are armed with a smart gun, you friend is unarmed. you get jumped by a couple of thugs bent on causing bodily harm to you and your friend. you draw your weapon, and get into a gun fight. during this fight you get wounded and are out of the fight. now you toss your gun to your friend, but because he is not authorized to use the gun, it wont work for him, and now you BOTH are unarmed, and the thugs now have the upper hand and can do with you two what they want.

if you didnt have the smart gun, your friend would have been able to shoot back instead of not being able to do anything. sorry but smart guns are very dumb, and i wont own one EVER.

And this is why America is in trouble. Big trouble. Jumped by a couple of thugs... really... gunfight... wounded ... buddy waiting for the handoff... oh dear Jesus this just can't be really why we can't move forward towards the 20th Century is it???
