If you look at the video, he not only picked her up and she fell on the hard concrete, he dragged her to the pool before throwing her into it. She was probably crying out for help. I'd be scared witless.

People who are blaming the victim should be ashamed. In FL there is a law mandating a 3 year jail sentence if someone is convicted of assaulting a person over the age of 65. There is also a fine and required restitution paid to the victim. I don't like mandatory sentences and believe there should always be exceptions, but this kid got off too easily.

Yeah, it wasn't pretty.

This is Florida. "Mom" could have shot this POS and got no jail time too.

Yay you, I don't live in Miami and cannot stand any part of Florida generally because of a lot of the humans who live there.
Don't like Arizona either.
I doubt you would be able to handle my part of the world and honestly you can talk about anything you want, the questions are: is anyone listening and does anyone really care? The same goes for me.
Good day and bless your heart.

I really don't understand the people who are victim-blaming in this incident. This is no different than saying if a woman goes out for a couple drinks in a low-cut dress, she should shoulder the blame if she's raped. It's the same as saying the business owner who doesn't pay the mafia for their 'protection' is responsible for their store being burned down. No different than saying Claudette Colvin should have anticipated the reaction of the people on the bus and just sat herself down in the back.

In each of those cases, there's one party who's morally wrong. In this case, it's not the older lady.

The one thing I do agree with is that his sentence not be jail time. It was wrong and stupid, and while not trying to excuse the behavior, I think if he hadn't slipped first, there would be a different reaction from people. I think he should have to do a bunch of community service. Preferably for old people.

That would be like sentencing a child porn addict to working at a day care.

But I see what you did there
