Re Curmudgeon, did any of his posts ever mention a specific religion or going to church? If so possibly a call to there. Cant think of much else, Montana Griz has good ideals.
Bella, sending out my hopes and wishes for your daughter's health.
BTW, ER, are those fires affecting you at all? I think you are south of them but would imagine you are seeing the smoke.
Personally, I have not been affected at all by the fires. The worst of the fires (a whole group of them) are about 400 miles from me in northern California; Santa Rosa is the small city (large town?) which has been horribly hard hit. There were also one or two fires down here in southern California. None of them were close to me and they weren't as bad as the ones in the north.
No. Just a few minutes ago I tried a Facebook search, but only two people by that name came up, both much too young and living in the wrong places. I concluded that Curmudgeon may not have had a facebook page. I don't have time right now, but maybe I'll try a search using his late wife's name.
If I learn anything, I'll definitely post here in the Chat Thread.
I did a bunch more googling just now. I have the name of the county - there is no city police dept., as the "city" (it's a village, actually) is much too small. I looked up the phone number and the office hours of that county sheriff's dept., and I plan to call them. (It may take me a couple of days to get around to it).
I did find the obituary for Curmudgeon's wife - she died five months ago. If there had been one for him, I would have found it at that same source.
I admit I am a very amateurish "detective". If I had to make my living as one I would probably starve to death.
Hi all, I hope all those vineyards in CA will be able to rebuild. Such a terrible tragedy. And we cannot lose another old CDer here, so hopefully Curm is just away on vacation in unknown parts. I have to say ER is certainly the bearer of bad news way too often. (kidding). BTW I have disassociated myself from Phoenix ! Put Phxbarb to bed.

With time and experience you could be a real P.I. He could have gone to visit one of his kids - one lives in a different state than CA - can't remember but maybe OH. He's all alone there - no real close friends/family.

"My three daughters and five grandchildren, with one on the way, all live close to one another in northern California. So do my wife's two daughters, three grandchildren and great grandson. My wife is there now but returning home in three weeks. I have a granddaughter in Colorado who just turned 18 and a married granddaughter in North Carolina. My oldest son, his wife and two grandchildren live in Ohio and my youngest son, his wife and their two children live in New Jersey."
