If anyone goes to visit ER, make sure bring along a couple dogs - he loves dogs. They can sleep in the guest bed.
That was pretty funny and I enjoyed it. I think Umbria is well aware that no dog will ever cross my threshold except at the point of a gun, that is, a gun pointed at me.

Read some posts on CD...read the line under my name... "the more I see of people the more I love my dogs"
Reconsider

I have no quarrel with you loving your dogs. The truth is we all love different things. For example, I love classical music, but I see nothing wrong with people who do not care for it. There is no reason for me to reconsider, as I have a full and active life. If I were lonely and longed for companionship I might reconsider.

I guess the big grin didn't stop you from taking my post too seriously.

Good point. I don't use those emoticons myself (I believe that's what they are called), so I tend not to even notice them. That is, they do not even penetrate my consciousness for the most part. So that probably caused me to miss the boat in this case.
Today, while the weather is relatively warm and windless I filled the big garden cart twice with firewood. I brought the entire first load in the house and half the second load. Then started putting the rest in the racks on the front porch. I'll do at last one more cart load before the sun gets much further and puts most of the back yard in shade.
I also need to fill both of the big kerosene heaters and if need be head up to market and get more kerosene so that both my 5 gallon containers are full.
Hopefully being prepared for the possibility of a power outage will keep it from happening or at least minimize the length of it.
Ha ha! Only you guys will appreciate this...my BF is 74, apparently his son thinks his Dad is setting a bad example for his kids, by living "in sin" with me!
Huh. I am obviously a "Jezabel", who coerced his Father, who up to meeting me, lead a virtuous life, by being married for 45 years...(his wife died...was he supposed to be alone?) obviously.
So,we are on the "Do Not Come Over" list...okay.
Stay warm out there, a good weekend for a good book! My Grandma used to make brown bread in a can, using those tall coffee cans. And real baked beans, which taste nothing like the ones from a can!
If he's on the DNCO list and is still with you, screw them. If your BF doesn't have a problem with choosing between his son and you I would say he's got brass ba11s and is a courageous chap.
LOL yep Jasper you are Delilah......

Zug, please be very careful using kero, we got tired of worrying about fumes and ditched ours.

OMG where are you, it will be April before we see highs like that. envy, growls..........
So after the thrill slide down the mountain road to the chiro yesterday I spent the day in my rig shopping in town and discovered I had no ABS, a fading brake pedal and an axle growling. At least it's not the transfer case. Not being able to make a sudden stop if I had to made me a bit nervous. Yikes

CCc girl - Thank you for your concern. The kero is only back up in case the power goes out and therefore no heat pump and is only used when I am home and awake, no overnight usage. The fireplace does put out a good amount of heat in the living room/dining room space but if power is out it means the blower isn't working on the insert so the heat doesn't move far out in to the house and the main floor is about 2,000 sq. ft. (I rarely spend time upstairs)
