Ummmmm ..... Olympia is WAY more rainy than Seattle. No rain shadow there. It's more like the stereotype of Seattle than Seattle is.

I just returned a little over a month ago from a lengthy summer stay in Seattle. I too spend much more time outside in Seattle than I do in Miami. Well, Dec-Feb. is awesome in Miami; it is comparable to summer in Seattle.

I am making it a point again next year to go out west to Seattle during the summer. Even if I am only able to stay 2 or 3 weeks it will be worth it being able to escape the summer heat for a little while. Even though this summer was considerably colder than last summer with many days only reaching the mid to upper 60s well into June. It did not bother me as it did not stop me from going outside to walk, run, and enjoy the nice weather, even on the days that was cloudy, light rain, and in the 50s for half the day.

Heard a lady behind me in line at the store yesterday mention how "hot" this 79 degree weather is. I considered telling her that in TN, it's sometimes 79+ at 7am and more humid, but I decided not to.

Over here in the Tri-Cities it's been anywhere from about 65 to about 80 before 10am. No humidity though, pretty dry (which is good as I hate humidity!). We also had some amazing lightning storms over here at night last week. I've been LOVING it! I am NOT looking forward to returning to Seattle at all! Can't wait to start calling this place home. It's gonna happen. Unlike Seattle, they get PROPER seasons over here!

It's supposed to be in the mid to upper 80s starting tomorrow for a solid week in Seattle, and nary a cloud in sight. Just sayin'.

I was actually a little disappointed when I looked at Bellingham's ten day forcast and saw mostly high 70s with no clouds. I'm ready for cooler weather.

Must be a September thing, sounds like how it was when I was there. No escape this month I guess.

Not much of a September thing....usually by now it will be somewhere in the low 70s with a few odd 80s thrown in.

The forecast on komotv.com mentioned how unusual it is for it to be so hot at this time of year.

The last time we had an extended heatwave in September was in 1989....

Default Sunny and no rain...

This is at 6:14 am PDT in Seattle.

I want to move to Seattle -because- it is cloudy and rainy. I am getting more confident that I would enjoy living in Seattle if it is gloomy for only a few months.

Where are you getting only a few months? I'm probably moving up there next spring myself, but in no way do I expect gloom for only a few months. I expect bad gloom for 3 months, tolerable gloom for another 3 months, not too bad for 3 months, and pretty decent for 3 months.

The people I know who lived there and tell it straight describe the place like this. Weather isn't good, but definitely not as bad as its reputation. It's not hard to see how this is so. Months from now you will see people still talking about the late arrival of summer, without ever mentioning how it was still quite pleasant in September.
