Lauren also looks a little more like the teenager she is tonight, and that's a good thing. I mean, there's still the stage makeup element, but it doesn't look so troweled on tonight. The stylists let her look a bit more natural.
I don't think I like "Up on the Roof" restyled in this genre.

Agreed on both counts. I really like her hair curly better than this flat-ironed look, but she definitely isn't looking like she is playing dress up this time. haha
James sounded so lovely at the beginning of his song that I am now voting for the first time this season. I was torn between he and Pia all season long and was sorry to see her go but now I have just one to back and hope he takes it all the way.
Everyone else sounded all right except Scotty but that may be because I can't stand anything country aside from Johnny Cash so everything that kid does bugs me. I hope he is the one to go tomorrow but I tend to doubt it.
I think Simon would have hated that, but it worked fine for me. Not my favorite thing he's done on the show, but nothin' wrong with it...just not that interesting of a song.
I think if you like Casey, then you'd love him tonight.
I'm kinda in between....some of his songs I have enjoyed and others I have not liked much. Tonight his song was a snoozefest for me. It just came across cheesy to me, although I could see it in a Jim Belushi or Jack Black movie....haha
Hah! High School show choir, with a dual screaming ending. How bizarre. But the crowd seemed to like it.
