From her comment--not what I could nterpret from the camera shot-he hit a large rock that was semi buried in the ground
Her comment was that it was supposed to be a pull off/safety lane w/o obstructions but it was a bar ditch--in the country---and speaking as one who grew up in rural Texas,
you never know what you might find in a bar ditch...

And yes--she knows he is autistic--but she chooses to ignore the idea that he might need to be treated differently because of that--
Her thing is treat him "normally" and he will behave normally...
And we can see how well that has worked...

He made it seem like an innocent error, and they had other things to put their minds on.

Previews for next week show Shaun wanting to follow that women. Discussing can he get a job in another hospital? It says Shaun will be chasing love.............
I think the real payoff in the show was at the end, when he goes home. It's in the way he walks around the place, looking at the rooms, all this familiary he has of the place he used as his comfort, and how it might not be enough. It suggests he has come to see that his current choices are not enough.

Or that he believes he can get from this neighbor the support/emotional connection he had from his brother
She is not providing that

She obviously knows Shaun has different reactions to a normal person and that he can be very emotional at times about change
Yet she tells him that she---his only friend--is going back to Hershey PA--out of Shaun's life after having a very special 24 hrs with him that made Shaun trust her MORE and then find out she is moving
Shaun just does not get rejection

Plus the idea that Andrews has a doctor on staff who is sexually taking advantage of women under him--residents and maybe nurses--and does nothing about THAT even though he KNOWS why the altercation happened and he can't "condone" physical violence--
But sexual harassment is OK apparently...

This show has a real issue with trying to keep their story lines straight
Losing two characters---one more important than the other but both who have created a connection with the audience and Shaun--in mid year when the show seems to have good ratings just seems a bad decision
Even if they stay I think this has been a bad decision

I thought that was very insensitive of her too. She had to have expected him to react like that.

Well that I actually understand. Obviously Andrews is the ahole in this show so his actions are supposed to be hypocritical.

Got it, thank you

yes, this last show was was almost like a cliff hanger, ya gotta wonder what is going to happen now.
I feel sorry for him, he's been alone all his life, and in his own way of thinking, he allowed this woman into his life....you can certainly understand how painful it must have been for him to hear her words....

We don't realize how our words & actions can not only effect others but hurt so many others...

This show is going off the rails. Last night it wasn't even about The Good Doctor.

They need some new writers. How many more freakish plots can they conjure up?

I agree that the whole plot with the conjoined twins was a train wreck. It was like watching a tennis match...which twin will live, which will die, which will we choose to kill off to save the other. Seemed like a lot of medical incompetence to me. And, when Shaun has been away from a case as serious as this, and then just walks right in gets re-involved...no...sorry...that doesn't ring true to me.

On the other hand, if the show were to only be about Shaun, I would probably stop watching. We get. He's Aspergers. Can't have a multi-year story about that one thing.

It was horrible. Let Katie die for Jenny. Oh no Katie is awake now Jenny is killing her and we have to let her go. The Mom was way too calm about all that.

Even weirder was when Jared walked into the operating room during the middle of an operation after getting his job back. Claire looked like it was her first time seeing him back, did he get the details of the surgery, or did he just scrub in and was expected to wing it?

That bothers me, too. Why did the Hill Harper character come down on Chuku Modu's character so hard? Chauvinism? I just don't get it.
