I'm in North Dakota, not South Dakota.

I wrote quite a long post yesterday but sadly, no internet.

Unfortunately, at this time of the year, sometimes 'you need to go south young lady', for better weather.
Drive Safely.

FYI, there are badlands in both North Dakota & South Dakota. The Black Hills are not part of the badlands. The Black Hills are a wooded, mountainous area.

Yeah, I'm going to switch my travel to traveling west in the fall and south in the spring, with Arizona during the winter.

Yesterday a buffalo crossed right in front of my car to get to the field across the road. I was so shocked I didn't get my camera set up fast enough.

Wow, to see one so close was awesome, to say the least.

It's another rainy day here and supposed to rain tomorrow too. I'm probably going to leave early, especially since internet is so spotty.

Windy but traveling anyway. There is a wind advisory and I am at a rest area about 46 miles from Bismark. The wind wasn't too bad but now it's terrible. Not sure if I should go on or just stop. It's so early yet, this is only the second rest area I've seen since I left Medora and I doubt if there's another before Bismark.

Decisions, decisions.

So it looks like you are getting pretty close to your summer home. Are you going to call it a day and cruise on in tomorrow?

Spring can really bring some strange weather cycles. From hot to cold, seemingly overnight, lots of rain, cooler temps than expected, and yes, wind. It seems moving on, even if just an hour or 2 further along the route, works out pretty well, unless one is heading straight into a snowstorm or other severe weather.

Getting back to "home base" is comforting, after a long journey.

Yes, it's too windy and Crackel Barrel is letting me stay.

The coolest thing is happening in the shopping plaza, there's a marching band all decked out. Don't know if what they are doing but they sound great.
