I am now a proud owner of a 2013 Dodge Caravan. 100,000 miles on it.
This is going to give me so much more room. It wasn't too pricey, $11,000, which I think is decent.. I put $7,500 down so still have a lot of savings but now have to build it back up.
Oh well, I will miss the Cube but I did want a Caravan. It was only at the dealership for two days. Paul, my angel, knew the sales person and turned me into her.
Best of all, it has the stowaway seats. It's going to take some time to get used to it because of the size and I 'm sure I won't get the wonderful mileage but that's the trade off for having the space.
I don't believe in coincidence but rather divine intervention. Paul brought me to Enterprise and even though I made a reservation for a car over the phone, giving them all the information they needed, when we got there the guy said he couldn't take an out of state bank card. He wanted a credit card, which I think is crazy since the money comes right out of my account but then Paul came up with the idea to see if his friend had something at the car dealership.
If Enterprise had taken my card none of the rest would have happened.
I did fine driving from the dealership to the motel. I do have to adjust the mirrors as I think the previous owner must have been taller. I'm 5'5 with short legs.
I'm debating staying here for a couple days because it looks like there's going to be more wierd weather. Or it may be the best time to leave tomorrow. I've got to get some maps because I'm sure mine were soaked.
I was going to take the Great River Route along the Mississippi but Ryan Hall said there's a lot of flooding so maybe that's not such a good idea. Maybe Louisiana ito Missouri and/or Mississippi. I just want to stay away from Oklahoma because I got really lost going through there last time, although I finally learned how to use Google maps so it should be easier.
This motel is only $62 a night, not fancy but comfortable enough. $124 to be safe is certainly worth it. I'll see what the weather is going to be tomorrow and take it one day at a time.
Or maybe I'll go to the state park. Decisions, decisions.

Glad to hear you are back on your feet and making plans! I agree think the hotel is a good idea. Were you able to get your clothes and bedding all washed?
