I'm sorry I haven't been checking this lately. Most days I read, watch utube videos of other nomads, the news and I've become addicted to crime videos. I don't think I'll ever understand how people can do what they do!
I'll be leaving here tomorrow or Saturday. Depending on the heat, I'd like to check out Mittry Lake by Yuma, then I have to check my storage unit in Sierra Vista. Plan on going to New Mexico by Santa Fe, on to Texas and then visit the southern states, Missouri and Mississippi. I may go back the Great River Route to Minnesota.
I didn't answer your question about meeting people. Yes, I've met some remarkable people but the weather has limited getting to know them a lot. The normal campfire get together 's hasn't happened because of the danger of high winds
But the times we've been able to do that has been enjoyable.
I left Quartzsite and am outside Yuma. Will go to BLM by Tucson tomorrow, then Sierra Vista the day after as it is only 70 miles or so from there.
It used to be you could stay over at the Walmart there but they stopped that. Another example of people abusing the privilege. I'm just going to stop at my storage unit and check it out.
Not sure how long I will be or sure where I will go from there. My eventual goal for the moment is a BLM spot in New Mexico.
Well, I made it to the BLM spot by Tucson but about 30 miles away there was a clanking sound and all of a sudden my air went out. I went ahead and continued here because it didn't show that it was overheating by, it was warm the rest of the way . And it is hot here.
Thankfully, the garage I trust in Sierra Vista, who always took good care of my car, will look at it tomorrow morning.
I just talked to my bank to give them a heads up that my car is probably going to need work. We have a set amount for daily use that I can't go over, just in case my card is 'lost'.
This is why we have emergency funds!
Also,, even though it's pretty warm here, there's a really nice breeze which keeps it comfortable.
I went ahead and changed going on to m trusted mechanic in Sierra Vista. Turns out I just needed some freedom. BUT, while doing the travel inspectfor air conditioning and brakes. So glad ion, my front brake was shot. It was $320 total but can.you imagine if I hadn't gone to someone I trusted what would have happened,? They could have gotten me for air conditioner and brakes.
