Any suggestions for Prime Day? I've gotten fairly well equipped but if you can think of anything you especially found useful, please let me know.

I've noticed that our mosquitoes are either a: lazy or b: drugged. It used to be they'd kamikaze you, usually in a team. Today they lazily flew to my arm and I quickly made short work of them. It was too easy and I 'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

How is it where you're at? Are there swarms or is it like they are here, sluggish and slow.

In the meantime I've been reading up on it and taking magnesium supplements as well as a magnesium spray and foot cream. Things are getting better and amazingly, my feet, which were the worst, are much better. My hands, on the other hand, specifically my right hand, are worse. I couldn't throw a fishing line to save my soul. I can barely drive, as a matter of fact.

The magnesium is helping and there are days it's not painful. I noticed it's usually when the humidity is low which may be why it wasn't noticable earlier.

Again, hope the operation helps that, especially since I went ahead and bought a fishing license. Fingers crossed.
It's great the Magnesium is helping your feet. It's pretty strange it isn't helping your right hand.
I hope the operation solves your tingling problems.

Years ago, we were fishing on a canal in the San Joaquin Valley, California, by a slough. It was about 100 degrees. In the afternoon a swarm of mosquitoes came out of the slough & we got many bites all over. They swelled up. Well, we were drinking rum & coke, the swelling went down after a while & we were all right. At first i didn't know if we were going to live. We did. I don't know if it was the rum that saved us or not.
Ever since then, the skeeters don't bite me hardly ever. Truthfully, i don't know why they don't bite me anymore.

It's the female skeeters that bite folks...

I bought this neat little camp stove, a Wadeo wood burning stove...
How do you like the stove? I have a similar one on my wish list.

I love it. It's going to work great if I can't use the Butane stove.

As promised, here's the update on the surgery.

It was supposed to be 3+ hours but took 6&1/2 hours. It turned out my right leg artery was totally blocked and the left leg artery was partially blocked. Also, because of these complications, I may be here 4-6 days.

The good part is that it's finally done.

What the doctor ended up doing was bypass surgery and he put a stent in the left leg artery and then opened up the right leg artery. By the time I woke up, my hand has already improved.

I have a on-demand pain button so haven't felt as much pain as I am sure I would in reality. I doze in between doses.

Normally I have an aversion to drugs but I'm going to take whatever they give me until I heal a bit. So if I sound a little goofy at times, that's why.

Every time I try to get to sleep, something keeps beeping so may as well as write some more. I'm patiently waiting for 7:00 am so I can have some food. I'm starving.

I'm sure most, if not all, of you know that you can't eat or drink anything after midnight before an operation. This would have been fine if a) he hadn't had an emergency operation which pushed mine back a couple hours and b) mine hadn't taken 6&1/2 hours so I wasn't out of recovery and into a room until 6:45. You can only order food from 7am to 7pm.

With the type of anesthesia they gave me, I was put on fluids, none of which are very exciting. And I had all of 15 minutes to decide which of these exciting items to order. Being of not sound mind, I ordered clear soup, yogurt and coffee. I'm sure it was the drugs that made me make those decisions.

So now I'm starving.

Meo, i'm happy your doc found your problems with your left & right leg arteries, did a stent& opened up right leg artery, hopefully solving the function problems you have had.
Heal Quickly...

Lately it's been 105-110 degrees here. MN is probably pretty Hot, too. So having A/C in the hospital is probably feeling Good...

I hope you will be able to walk much better, without pain,
