The procedures he did is called a famoral to famoral artery bypass via an angiogram and stent. I had to Google it and don't really understand how it's done but it was finding the damage to the left leg and the total closing of the right artery that caused the problem.
He said I SHOULD be able to walk better, but it take some time to fully heal. I'm going to have to build up those muscles again.
I saw in My Chart that they already have me scheduled for OT and PT. Gee,sure am looking forward to that.
Mostly I'm looking forward to a delicious fluid meal.
The best thing yet. A doctor stopped by to see how I was doing and he will change the orders from fluid diet to food so I can eat real food. Hallelujah!

YAY! And of course, MAJOR YAY for your surgery being behind you and it having gone well. That is really, really great news.
Are you still looking to leave around September 1st? That's only a month away!
I should be healed by then. It's the incisions that need healing, already after just one day I can walk. Granted I 'm not running any marathons but it no longer hurts to walk.
The incisions do hurt though. My plan is to leave after labor day, when everyone is back to work and school. I will do a reverse trip through North Dakota, Montana, Washington if some friends are still camp hosting, straight on to Oregon if they aren't. We'll be meeting up at Pahrump for the next van build anyway.
So Pahrump and then Quartzsite. This year I plan on joining the women's caravan.
Oh, both PT and OT went well. I was able to walk the whole length of the hall with the physical therapist and passed the strength tests with both the physical and occupational therapists.
I didn't even realize how much I compensated for not being able to use my leg by using upper body strength.
My sister called and my doctor told her that my right leg artery was 100% closed and the left leg artery was 80% closed which was why I was in the operating room for 6+ hours. I was asleep through all of it of course.
I knew my pain level was high but it's no wonder I was always tired.
Anyway, it guilted my sister out as she had been bugging me about getting things done, so she decided to clean and do my laundry, which is very nice of her.

Reason: Interrupted by nurse
The next trip starts after labor day. First real stop, Theodore Roosevelt National Park for a day or two. I really liked it there, even with the rain. After that I'll just meander through Montana, I plan to spend a lot of time in Oregon and eventually Pahrump for the van build in October.
They haven't sent out volunteer requests yet so not sure when that's starting.
