I'm sure the election and the timing never crossed Judge Alito's mind when he wrote the decision. 3 new Judges were already bound to it after they had pledged they would vote for an overturn, and there was one more senior Judge who had been pledged to an overturn for a long time.

If the election was thought about at all, I'm sure they all believed their decision would cause a conservative tidal wave.

None of them ever spent a second of time thinking of the consequences. Members of SCOTUS never do; consequences are always present with every decision that court makes.

The Republican Party has been as over-confident in 2022 as the Democratic Party was in 2016.

Whichever state (Mississippi I believe) challenged legal right to abortion, did they really care more about a fetus life than protecting us from evil socialism as too many people are stupid enough to realize that is what most democrats with number increasing each day want.
They want a Christian fundamentalist theocracy. An American Taliban. That's pretty much the reasoning. They care about nothing else. And I'll take socialism over a theocracy any day of the week.

As someone who is 80% solid D voter but recognizes the ills of wokeness I still believe I can have my cake (D white house / senate / house) and still eat my cake (reduce power of wokeness). Local elections in things like school board and libraries will continue to oust wokies even if Ds are still winning higher up. SF recently ousted a pro crime city leader yet remains deep blue. The left wing economic policies Biden is enacting that the GOP hates like student loan relief actually takes issues away that wokies use by fixing legit problems. Fewer Americans are going to be economically insecure and thus find big S Socialism or Communism appealing.

The fact that it did not cross his mind when it was only 4.5 months away is pretty darn stupid.

And if the evil far left has control of both chambers of congress after November 8, he ruined our country for us in addition to what the evil left are trying to do to our country.

Abortion should be far down the list compared to the threat of socialism which is biggest threat to democracy.

Vote for the GOP but not for Trump if you are worried about his threat to democracy.

People need to realize gridlock is the best thing so no extreme gets passed on either side. Since evil sleepy Joe Biden an Obama and far left puppet is in office, GOP congress will not be able to do anything to pro abortion people and likewise evil Biden will not be able to what evil left congress wants if the GOP controls it.

I am hoping they don't blow this election, but I am afraid they will with the infighting going on.

Got news for you. Socialism is just as bad. Just look at USSR and Cuba when they used to be democracies then become communist dictatorships when socialism evolved.

Socialism is just the first stage on step to communist dictatorship!!

I get it, you like the idea of a theocracy. I can only assume you must be a man.

No I hate both equaly

The GOP is much less of a threat to a theocracy than the left is towards socialism which both destroy United States freedom.

Reason being there are checks and balances in place.

The left knows how to gradually implement more and more big government until people accept it and its too late.

The right I am not sure. Mayne they do want Christian Taliban Theocracy though that seems far less likely than the left wanted a social justice police state. I mean the rights is aftercall more government hands off historically so your freedom is less likely threatened with checks and balances in place as they would not try and implement big government.

Though if the concern is about both, vote for the GOP come November to ensure gridlock as we have a democrat president. If we had a republican president vote for the dems to ensure gridlock. Its the only way to hang onto freedoms otherwise both side extremes will become reality.

(By the way, universal health care sure makes sense. Why saddle employers with buying people's health insurance? The whole health insurance industry is one big boondoggle!)
Exactly right.

Yep in FL Val Demings is in a virtual dead heat with Rubio. She's also out fundraising him.

She will likely bring out the votes Crist needs to beat DeSantis.
