New polling shows dems have surged into the lead in the generic congressional ballot. Ryan is up nearly double digits in OH. Everything is turning blue. Check them out at 538.

LOL. This is going to age so well. The House is gone. Even if Democrats win ALL the toss up races with all the safe races, they will be short of a majority. In the average RCP website Vance average is 3.7%. The last 2 polls have Vance winning with an average of 4% and they have it leans GOP.

I'll just say this - at the beginning of the year I was leaning towards voting Republican in some of our state and local races but I'm now leaning towards the Democrats in all but the local races (our local Democrats are fairly scandal ridden and ineffective so I'll certainly vote Republican there).

Not surprised that people are moving in that direction given the Dobbs ruling and the fact that a lot of Trump backed national Republican figures won their primaries. I'd still be somewhat surprised if the Dems won the House, but at this point I fully expect them to gain in the Senate.

A Texas judge just ruled that requiring insurers to pay for screening colonoscopies is unconstitutional. Same for all cancer screeings. You will be paying a thousand or more now for what has been part of coverage for over a decade. It will be the law of the land until SCOTUS overturns it (unlikely). If you think they are done at abortion, consider this. They are filing suits with the same judge to stop payments for contraception, to outlaw gay marriage, to end your ability to marry whomever you want regardless of their race. This is your Republican party. Choice is on the ballot, democracy is on the ballot, access to life-saving medical care is on the ballot and human rights we have taken for granted are on the ballot. There is not much time left as they intentionally waited until the last minute to file these cases. We can only hope that Americans wake up in time to save us from the tyranny of the religious right.

That's covering an awful lot of territory. What are the cases you are referring to with the screening colonoscopies and the cancer screenings?

I'll just say that screening and medically necessary are different. It's all in the fine print for procedures and coverage. I'm guessing diagnostic procedures are covered when medically warranted.

2 new polls released yesterday. Demings vs Rubio for US Senate seat in Florida: Rubio is +2 and +3 over Demings. That's bad for an incumbent senator with statewide name recognition.

Same 2 polls have DeSantis +3 and +4 over Charlie Crist for FL Gov.

From 1 of the polls:

voters cite the economy/inflation (54%) and abortion(44%) as the top two issues that will most influence their vote this November. The rise of abortion as a top issue is significant because it far exceeds other issues,
like crime and public safety(only 16%)or immigration(26%)......... this is the second state polled by SP&R in less than a month where abortion has risen to a
top spot,
as was the case in recent SP&R’s Pennsylvania poll which also showed abortion in the #2 spot (at 41%)

It shows there is trend in inconsistent polling. If you look at the Senate race between Rubio vs Patrick in 2016 it was the same. You even had RCP say it was a toss up. Rubio won on election day by 8%. CNN poll had it Rubio by 1% a week before the election. RCP has it lean GOP that is better than toss up from 2016.

We will rate polls after the election. A large % of polls have been off recently from election night.

Yep and she has only just begun to hit Rubio hard on the abortion issue.

He has no cover as far as his position.

So? Don't most conservatives in this forum strongly support doing all or nearly all of the above? As they see it, if you can't afford to pay for medical screenings, then that is your problem. It's not the insurance company's problem that doesn't want to include it. Neither is it the government's problem.

Many of them will use religion as found in bible verses to justify why they support prohibitive policies. There are numerous bible verses to justify discrimination.
