That is a good thing. He’s not dumb. He should be a quick learner and bring new ways of thinking to the office. Being a politician is not hard. I’d rather have an accomplished physician with little political experience over a man who recently had a major stroke and his main policy goals are to end the major industry in his state for a pipe dream and is on record for wanting to release 1/3 of the prison population including violent murderers.

I think you have to have a good understanding of legal issues, the Constitution, political process, governance rules, etc.

This man may be a brilliant heart surgeon, He knows about hearts, but he has demonstrated a lack of integrity or a certain level of ignorance with his support of 'magic' pills for weight loss, etc...that demonstrates his judgement is off.

Accomplished physician can't fix your plumbing -- nor do they automatically may good politicians.

Look at that grocery store video. It was awful. He approved that. What kind of judgement does he have to think that was a message to put out there. It was so out of touch.

All this talk of carpet bagging yet right now the mayor of NYC has residency issues with some saying he doesn't actually live in NYC yet almost dead silence from Dems on the mayor of their flagship city possibly being a carpet bagger.

https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/poli...taxes/3282972/

Preventing carpet bagging should be easy at the local or national level but why haven't laws or even rules with in a party been imposed. Probably because it goes on more often than many want to believe. Not a fan but it happens.

Also one way to make carpet bagging tougher is once a voter moves their names should be removed from the voter rolls as an eligible voter in the old location-uh oh, purging or cleaning up voter rolls

Back in the day, your PCP would prescribe you Phentermine for weight loss.

Long term use is associated with stroke, heart attack, heart failure, coronary artery disease.

Are you telling me "raspberry ketones" is worse than that?

Oz maybe recommending useless treatments, at least they're safe!

In a February 2012 episode of his show, Oz touted raspberry ketones, the compound that gives the fruit their smell, as "the No. 1 miracle in a bottle to burn your fat." That kind of stuff just doesn't sit well with people that aren't into bull. Green coffee beans were another 'magic' bean according to Oz.

He tweeted and deleted (for a heart surgeon why tweet it in the first place) "For centuries, we have used astrological signs to examine our personality and how we interact with those around us," he said. "However, these signs may reveal a great deal about our health as well."

He's done some sketchy stuff -- all seemingly for money.

That grocery store promo was just another example of his sketchy thought process.

There is a ton of stuff you can find that existed long before Oz entered the political arena.
What’s so bad about a doctor pushing supplements instead of the pharmaceutical drugs that often are much worse? I don’t know if he only did it for the money. Maybe he believes in it. At any rate, I’d still vote for him over a socialist who wants to destroy viable and necessary industries for green manufacturing that won’t materialize. All while claiming that we can let out 1/3 of the prison population including those with life without parole sentences (i.e., heinous murderers as those are the ones who get sentenced to life without parole).

I don’t get why anyone would want to vote for that.

If someone takes Oz's advice on 'raspberry ketones' it would be much more beneficial than taking your PCP's advice and taking Naltrexone lol.
Absolutely true!

No he sold them as 'magic' beans or pills.

Yes it is clear you would vote Republican allt he time.

That's okay.

But someone asked why anyone would have a problem with Oz. He's the traveling medicine man who sold his soul to the devil to make money.

All he had to do was sell a healthy diet and exercise. That's the secret to being heart healthy.

I saw the grocery store video. It was not awful. He was talking about inflation. Just because he chose a meal that was healthy to do it doesn’t mean he’s out of touch. A science trained person can quickly learn all the ins and outs of the law and constitution and serve his constituents well without going to school for public policy. I have no doubt he will be in a better position to research policy positions and make informed decisions.

Why because he is a medical doctor? That doesn't mean you make informed decisions. He made an informed decision to hype 'magic' pills for weight loss knowing all along they had zero medical research behind them but he got a kickback for pushing them on his show.

Is that good judgement?

And yes for the die-hard Republican , the video was fine. But it wasn't meant for the person already committed to voting Republican, it was meant to try and get MORE votes and it failed massively. Screwing up the grocery store name, calling a veggie tray, 'crudities'...it was all wrong. And his judgement not to know that....questionable.

Again someone asked why some people have a problem with Oz.....and the whole pushing of herbal supplements for weight loss --- not as something extra but as a 'magic' pill or bean, from a medical doctor lacks integrity.
