Eventually all economic ties between the two have to be severed during a state of war.

Quote:
About 2.1 million Ukrainians live and work in Russia; this large diaspora is the biggest single source of remittances to Ukraine; according to the World Bank, Ukraine is the most remittance-dependent country in Europe and Central Asia, deriving 6 percent of its GDP from that source. Last October, Ukraine banned Russian remittance systems; in response, a bill now going through the Russian parliament bans the use of foreign payment systems such as Western Union to transfer money from Russia to Ukraine.

Let me tell a story.

Once upon a time there were two countries married to each other. One was called Sweden and the other one Finland. They were together for almost 700 years, but then Russia said that now this girl is mine. The Russian stepfather let the daughter be for 90 years, but then she started to get rebellious and he started beating her. The stepfather died and the daughter was independent, and immediately turned to her brother Sweden. There was and is a bond which you cannot break.

A similar story can be told about Russia and Ukraine. Brother and brother, brother and sister, father and son. But Ukraine has done the decision that it wants to break off the old shackles. When your daughter flies away from home it hurts, but it has to be done.

"Ukraine" maybe. But I think that not all Ukrainians have made their decision. And it's a huge problem.

I read that no less than 5 million. Just some Ukrainians received the Russian citizenship.

+ For example, this summer I was had a rest in the Crimea. The masseuse was a Ukrainian, she came to the Crimea 10 years ago and now have Russian citizenship. The photographer was from Kharkov. Etc.

++ In Moscow, a lot of cars with Ukrainian numbers.

Ukrainian education and mentality are well-suited for the Russia. Ukrainians can get good money in Moscow, in the Crimea, etc.

Ukraine will not be a part of the EU for 30 years. Why? Because they have to get rid of the Soviet mentality.

Ukraine was Russia's best friend, its brother and daughter. And you decided to make her your enemy. Still you woinder why the West is hostile to you.

"When the changes take effect, the holders of biometric passports can travel to the EU for 90 days during the 180-day period for a business trip or a family vacation," - reported in the EP. It should be noted that the visa-free regime is not intended to obtain a work permit, and does not apply to UK and Ireland.

No. The mentality does not matter for inclusion in the Union, this is a children's view of the problem. Geopolitics works differently. Just EU not need it.
