If Russia were to abandon the DNR/LNR because of that then there would be a slaughter most likely in the rebel territories.
There would be no such slaughter at all. Amnesty is part of the deal. The only ones they will kill are those who don't lay down arms (and anyone captured during conflict who isn't wearing insignia). But this isn't going to happen unless he gets something for it. I doubt NS2 is important to Putin since he has enough money and doesn't give a toss about Russians.

The word of any Ukrainian official is not worth the air used to utter it let alone the paper it's written on. That's a non starter.

They demand "tougher actions" towards Russia because of that project, when Biden is in no position to go for it, before the upcoming trip to Europe on "environmental issues."
I know this company and a couple of guys that worked there and I almost went to work for them a decade ago.
