So what's up with the "new formed government" of Ukraine, and why it's not forming, kinda?
And you're a politically astute fellow. You know what side(s) the bread's being buttered on, eh??? The toast gets burned on both sides too..;-)...Getting good toast is very very complicated I think.
And as an aside, where in the world is Mr. Y?
Revolutionaries won all of Ukraine except a part of the Crimea and Sevastopol. Masked men with shields and sticks captured the authorities in the East. In Kharkov, 300 people captured the Council and demanded the resignation of the previous government of the city. Residents and police are afraid to get rid of these people because they might be blamed for the violence. Furthermore rebels have weapons and the police have orders from Kiev to not check them.
No one wants to Yanukovych as President. He is called a coward and a traitor.
Already wrote correctly that Yanukovych has already lost all its influence in the East. When Kiev was captured by rebels, local "princes" decided to stop resisting. They understand that their property can be looted and now they are in the process of surrender.
Ive been reading on various news articles that the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine are largely pro-Russia, speak Russian, and have strong cultural ties to Russia. Also there is the Russian Navy's Black Sea fleet base in Sevastopol.
Why not transfer these regions of Ukraine to Russia and allow the pro-Western western regions carry on the existence of the Ukranian nation?
Its difficult to run a country (Ukraine) where a large part of the population is more loyal to another country (Russia) then their own. So what your saying might actually be the only real solution.
If that happened the Russians would be happy to get additional territory (especially Crimea and the Sevastopol naval base) and the European Union would get the more westernized Ukraine. Its possible.
"KIEV, Ukraine — The European Union’s foreign policy chief, Catherine Ashton, spent two days here promising unspecific support for a new Ukrainian government but urging it not to break close trading and cultural links with Russia. Ms. Ashton’s deft dance was inevitable — the European Union and the West are not willing or capable of bailing out Ukraine’s economy, especially if Moscow retaliates with new punitive tariffs, higher prices for natural gas and a cutoff of significant ties to Ukrainian factories and businesses."
There we go.
Isn't it what it was all about to begin with?
$$$$ - that's the answer. That's why Europe didn't purchase Ukraine first time around, after the Orange revolution.
Putin, who is all about $$$$ knows it too. That's why he is not in a rush to make his move.
I wish Ukrainians the best but i think the ideal of of the United States or other western countries loaning billions in aid directly or indirectly (IMF) is going to be very unpopular among the populace of those countries. Every single nation except maybe Germany has very huge Government monetary budget deficits. In the USA politicians are screaming we have to reduce Social Security and Medical care for the elderly and food assistance for hungry children or the nation will face economic ruin. In the UK they are implementing austerity measures because of their budget issues. I would advise the new Ukraine government not to rely on the promises of money from these nations because most of these nations are basically bankrupt also.
