You seriously calling what is going on stabilizing the situation?
Yes. In Kiev, Odessa, Mariupol, Slavyansk, Donetsk, Lugansk, etc. killing many people. You can say that militias receive orders from Russia. Possible. Maybe there is a little help. But it's a drop in the sea.
In Crimea, the victims almost was not. This is stabilizing the situation.
The situation was set on fire in Kiev. Russia only reacts and defends.
we are tired of violent Ukrainianization, looting and sale of our factories abroad and armed coups every 10 years. Would you like to live in such conditions? I do not think so.You can not reply this question here, but be honest with yourself
This is a good question and does indeed put things into a different perspective.
However, it's become obvious that the rebels aren't the answer either. They're too busy playing out their warlord fantasies to really care about the people of Donbas. The foreign mercenaries are not ready to sit down and negotiate for a better outcome for the region, which involves them giving up their weapons and power, and returning home or off to some other conflict. If the Ukrainian army backed off, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the different rebel groups just ended up fighting each other without the common enemy to rally around.
What we start this gamble with the rebels was a mistake and it seems to me that our government has not very wise experts...
They are on the brink. They can not help, because the world community starts sanctions and can not leave, as this will cause discontent in Russian society.
It's Brussels turn this century. Just deal with it.
Should be interesting. Though as a US citizen, I'd GLADLY and heartily encourage any policy which shifts full responsibility to the EU when it comes to protecting the EU and it's interests...well, Europe doesn't really have a good track record when it comes to "keeping the peace" or playing well with others. I mean, they haven't broken out in a full fledged global conflaguration in the past 60 years, but in the whole scheme of things that's really not all that impressive.

The EU has very few interests in Ukraine, and has no reason to take any active part in the crisis. But on the contrary, in terms of keeping peace the EU has been a success story. There hasn't been a more peaceful phase in history for hundreds of years in Europe than since 1945.

And why we need to start that gamble? Wasn't it obvoius that it will be an absurd one? Besides, we already annexed one territory. The other countries reacted quite calm. We should have stopped. Ok, perhaps the militaries wanted to return the naval base. Ok, they did it. Stop.
But no, someone became insane and decided that he can do everything he wants... And the reasons? The idea that the lives of the population were in danger, that the far-right activists come and kill them all as during WWII, was an absurd one.

The plane was full of Dutch citizens. I'd say the Netherlands has some interest in the situation - or at least they SHOULD, and they're an EU member state. That's my frame of reference.
Along with several thousand years of history filled with European conflict. Don't get me wrong - I'm glad that Europe has been at peace for the past 60 out of several thousand years and I hope their short track record of success continues to lengthen. I'll feel even better when we leave their defense entirely to them.

Considering the age of the US and its track record -
