Turned into black beans cooked with a bit of sausage and fresh jalapeno, cumin, OJ, and sherry. These beans are really good topped with sour cream or yogurt.

This morning we had to dig out from the 10" of snow we got and it is still falling. All schools are closed so guess who did the digging?

The kids wanted a Cracker Barrel breakfast so we had bacon, eggs, pancakes, fried taters and fried apples. Think that will hold us all until around 9pm tonight! Getting ready to do some baking somebody mentioned wanting brownies and I will bake a pie of some sort too. Of course I have to put a pan of cocoa on for when they come back in from building forts.

It is good! It's a modified version of a Joy of Cooking recipe.
You could serve it over rice, but, and this should come as no surprise to anybody, I prefer to spoon them onto soft corn tortillas and top with yogurt and call them bean tacos!
