I need to use up some stuff, so 15 bean soup with cabbage, onions, celery, carrots and spinach, smoked hocks and kielbasa.

I made "garbage broth" yesterday, broth from all the vegetable cuttings and a few bones, and it is surprisingly good, so maybe I'll use that in place of water.

I always do that and use it instead of water as well I have frozen containers of the broth in my freezer!

I am making a spicy potato and kale stew in my crockpot -- it is supposed to have turkey sausage in it but I don't have any. It is really yummy so I am making it and at the very end will add a can of butter beans I have in the pantry. I had a giant bag of kale I needed to use up as well as an 8 lb bag of potatoes I got last week for $1.97. I also have some corn muffins in the freezer which will go well with the stew.
