What income do you consider poor for NYC? I've always thought middle class started around 60-70K here. I definitely feel poor, so I'll take the poor door, haha!
idk about you but i know people who make 18k these are the ones i consider poor and yet they managed.
i do feel poor too and i make 55k
but doesn't mean i'd accept a poor door. that's just me

I'm pretty sure this is one of the last buildings to have the poor door before they changed the law, so you're good!
I personally like the location, roof top, laundry room, gym, brand new apt oh and did I mention location. I'll take a poor door. Btw there is a Starbucks coming on 61st.
Yeah, I'm way too desperate to get out of my current situation to be deterred by the indignity of a poor door. Not everyone is though, which makes me happy for them and happy for me because it makes my chances slightly better.
That's not entirely true, a lot of people who have won lotteries mentioned that they have killer views. Also, I think buildings are required to evenly distribute the amount of 20/80 tenants on each floor to prevent "segregation" and this is done in many buildings like emerald green
You are right my building has affordable units all over the building,I happen to be on the 1st floor. facing the court yard, and I love it .no street noise.but I know folks in wheelchairs up on the upper floors. again I like my 1st floor cause I can get in and out of the building with ease.and only one apartment near mines.

Most of the buildings you have to pay for some of the amenities if you get in under affordable housing,my building is one of them
If I am fortunate to get a lease in a new building/apartment I am not worrying about amenities. I would be thankful for a new apartment in a decent building/neighborhood.
