Take the unit and don’t look back. That is a great rent, there is some form of Rent Regulation going forward I think. If you don’t like living there don’t renew your lease.

There is the L Train on 1st Av at 14th. 15 select bus on 1st Av, 14A and 14D select buses, the 23 select bus on the 20th St side of StuyTown campus, and the 34A select bus by the Peter Cooper campus. And the 9 bus.

There's actually an entrance to the L train on Avenue A.

The only drawback is it seems to be on the first floor (it's facing the 14th Street Loop between A and B). For those who live in StuyTown now, how is living on the first floor? Should I be concerned about safety? What about mice and roaches?

And to note: I really do think the rent is random (aka a lottery). My salary is right in the middle of the one person one bedroom income range and my rent offer is on the lower end.
Congrats!!! Just a quick question. Once you were put on a waitlist for the 1 bedroom, did you get an official email to inform you that you were on the waitlist.
I am getting concern as I received a phone call from Ms Pryce 3 weeks after submitting my paperwork. She asked me to sign my child affidavit and that the rest is good. Which I did, but after that I never received any update that I was put on a waitlist...Just an email informing me that there isn't any 2 bedrooms available at the moment and that I might have to re-submit my documents at some point.

I wouldn't call it an official email, but I did get an email from Syed (the agent who handled my docs) confirming I was placed on the one bedroom "hold list."

Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your continued interest in the StuyTown lottery. I am your Occupancy Specialist. Unfortunately, currently we do not have any 1 bedroom units available for occupancy.

Please do not submit any(more) documentation at this time.

We have placed your application on hold until units become available. We will contact you to submit additional supporting documentation, if necessary.

No further action is needed.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

My correspondence went like this:

Syed: "Thank you for submitting your documents. Unfortunately, all our 1 bedroom applicants are currently being placed on a hold due to low inventory on our one bedroom apartments. With your permission, I can place you on that 1 bedroom hold list and when your turn comes up, contact you again. Keep in mind, at that time, updated statements may be required."

Me: "Thank you for reaching out. Yes, please put me on the hold list."

Syed: "Thanks for reaching out. I have placed you on the one bedroom hold list."

Maybe "on hold" is synonymous with hold list and you should be good to go. Keep in mind it took about seven months for me to move up the wait/hold list.

Congrats!! I was just getting ready to ask if anyone at least had an update if 1 bedrooms were moving at all or still on hold due to renovations/inventory. I was starting to think they gave up on us lmao

I got asked for documents 3 days ago despite there being no apartments available. Log number 46xx. (Not submitting though. Bummed because even though salary is fine I exceed asset limit. At least next person has less of a wait.)
