A lot of Philadelphians don't live walking distance from the affected area. If they felt that leaving was best for them, so be it. PATCO also screwed up. They forced advanced purchase of weekend passes. Those didn't sell well & they didn't come up with a plan B. It is what it is. In 2012 Uptown Charlotte was pretty much a ghost town other than delegates. This is actually what the federal authorities want.

I've seen 2 reports on different stations from Charlotte reporters. One was strictly inside with 2 women from Charlotte who are working with the social media group. They've been in Philadelphia for a week prior to the start up of the activities & they said that it's been wonderful. The other reporter was with a different group from Charlotte, also inside, but he did his stand-up with an outside shot that had a few people milling around, much like outside stand-ups that were done in the ghost-town that was Uptown Charlotte in 2012. The media knows what the name of the game is for these things.

An EMT squad from Ft Mill, SC, a suburb of Charlotte, is there. I expect that they'll be be interviewed this weekend by Charlotte reporters. With some luck everything will go on without a hitch. That will be reported, & if any media outlet from outside of Philadelphia reports empty streets in a negative way, shame on them.

Very festive crowd. I am trying to upload a picture but it's not working. I got a good spot and the lady next to me said I can stand on here stool when he arrives at independence hall. I'm not in the seated area but right behind it. I have met many people from all over the place. Saw a cool celebration outside of the church on 12th I think near Locust

Google the Onion.

Y'know the way that people would have to walk 4 miles is if they parked the bus in Camden. It would be a 2 mile walk each way. You need to check & see where the 4 mile figure is coming from, if not Camden.

Not one person has to walk four miles. I mean you could if you want to just walk around but most people are just lining the streets waiting and independence hall mall is mostly full. it's like musical acts from around the world right now. The National Park Service showed there 100th anniversary video for 2016.

Only steeps would not understand the onion lol..
