This is likely to be the most new cases reported anywhere in the country today - even NY only has 1036 today!

Not all states have reported - but my guess is we will end up having the most based on who is left to report.

What does this mean? More testing? Lower numbers from the weekend bunching up into a single day? Who knows.

I think that's where I'm looking. Am I in the wrong place?

When I hover over yesterday, it's only showing 18 new cases.

So I was wrong - Illinois ended up with quite a few more - 1600+ and 113 deaths - but they have BEEN in a bad place with this for awhile.....as I said above - this could just be a blip for AZ.

The goal of staying home was to "flatten the curve" so that hospitals weren't overwhelmed. It would be silly to keep the economy closed when intensive care beds sat mostly empty, so opening back up was the right call. Now, if we see too many hospitalizations and begin to worry about handling the load, the decision could be made to close down again.

The problem as I see it is not opening things up, it's the dummies going out without masks and getting together in large groups without using precaution. There's a smart way to remain open and a dangerous way. People milling about like they did in 2019 are the problem.

Yep. It's pretty simple ^^. But until we see a big uptick in deaths, expect people to ignore common courtesy and common sense. Time will tell. I bet with all of this civil unrest going on, people are not thinking about COVID precautions as much.

I was thinking we'll probably see in uptick in sick law enforcement from all of the demonstrations.

You're right, but doesn't that prove that we do need some restrictions? Haven't people been proven incapable of making the right decisions without outside intervention?
