Masks work in operating rooms because a clean one is put on, never touched, then taken off and disposed of. Most people reuse the same mask and constantly touch it.
ew, wouldnt it be funny if it turned out masks made it worse? i know one way it does: people social distance less because of them. i see people beak to beak because they cant hear each other.

ive always hated the close talker, and have social distanced my whole life! i dont want anyone in my space, so it bugs me to see it now.

the protests, the rallies, the celebrations have ruined it. the perfect storm of a pandemic and viral video. no controlling it now folks

If I'm right, I don't think very many workers in the big box stores, like Wal-Mart, are coming down with covid.

Try being hard of hearing and communicating with someone wearing a mask. Even with hearing aids I still depend on reading lips, but I can't do that with masks. If someone asks me a question my wife answers it.

Still arguing this? There will be a federal mandate soon, just like y'all wanted. And that will be just the beginning of Federal mandates.

Well that would be unconstitutional, so shove it!

If old people in less than good health would just stay away from people, overwhelmed hospitals wouldn't be a problem or talk of more shutdowns. One really loses freedoms confined in a hospital.

If masks actually worked, COVID wouldn't be surging "across the U.S." It would be surging in places that don't have mask mandates.

Of course, asking a liberal to use common sense is an exercise in futility.

Masks are like life preservers. They only work when you put one on. How do you expect masks to work in crowded restaurants after taking them off to eat? That's why I don't go to restaurants during busy times.

Didn't know that the new spelling for mask(s) was VACCINE(S).

Stay on topic please. That would be MASK(S).

So wearing a mask is inconvenient but the science and common sense suggest a barrier helps. Not perfect, but helps. Why so much whining? Why not temporarily buck up?

This country could never pull off World War II these days given the number of self centered twits around.
