Thanks, Thought-Policeperson. Understandably, your old habits are hard for you to part with.
It's an out of sight, out of mind type situation. Controlling the conservations here makes some feel as though they are impacting the world, thou, in reality, they are just driving the conversations elsewhere as to keep the topics here mostly secular or anti. If it's not in my backyard it doesn't exist.
the problem gab is that some people can't handle comparing claims side by side to see what ones are on equal footing without using their personal emotional need as the standards. some of us cannot separate our emotions from the logic. In fact, I think some of us focus on "their rude" so that they don't face the limits of their position.
I love when people are "straight forward" and when a response is given that is straight forward they run behind the "youre mean" blanky and get a mass report surge going. Its a clear indication that they have reacted their limit sometimes.

He meant 'conversations'. Mods (and Site policy) controls those. If we Rule here, it is because we won that position with the much better arguments. The religious debate is long over. The task is now to sell highly unpopular atheism to a largely religious -headed populace.

When people are emotionally tied to a solution, the reason for the emotional tie drives their thinking and breaks through the conversations all the time. Often the person can't understand the world outside of the emotional connection. Or make a conscious effort in making their personal emotion the base axiom for the their choices and stances.

It's a debate for you, a discussion for others. Spamming every thread against novice posters with "How could anyone believe this or that? I don't believe it! You're dishonest! etc." and getting personal, is not winning any debate and actually would not be allowed in any debate of substance. What we have here is: special pleadings, emotional appeals, insults, and unwarranted-posturing.
